Just saw them in concert in Philly a couple of months back. At 65 Robert is as talented as ever. The Cures new music is even able to rival their "classic" stuff. I hope Robert is still writing and performing at 90.

Excited to see Robert and his crew next month. It's been awhile since I've seen them live.
I adore this band with all my heart and soul and have for so long. Finally got tickets to see them live in 2023 and I couldn't be more excited. They have been top of my must-see list for decades. This is a lifetime event for me.
This is one my least favourite of their "hits" but I completely adore Disintegration- it's part of my DNA at this point, and so are the Cure. And, anyway, the song sounds really good to my ears today.
Long live the Cure, and long live Robert Smith. They mean so so much to so many of us.

I felt like I'd heard this song for years as if it was just background, and then, suddenly, maybe because of where I was at on all levels at the time, I really heard it like for the first time...and then, after, of course it can never be the same... I was in a stone farmhouse in the hills of Amiata the winter and spring of '05 and I can honestly say I had never seen so many spiders in my life nor have I since! Spiders in the wine, spiders in the firewood, spiders in every possible place in the bathrooms upstairs and down...and this song came on over the Radio Roma...and -- well, I was paying attention, and it will forever stay in my mind...it remains an eerie, mystical soundscape episode for me...

I think they meant wonderful memories of this song and its melody, probably not the presumed implications of its lyrical content. Your interpretation of the lyrics (though astute) is not necessarily the definitive one - not unless you're Robert Smith.

I think they meant wonderful memories of this song and its melody, probably not the presumed implications of its lyrical content. Your interpretation of the lyrics (though astute) is not necessarily the definitive one - not unless you're Robert Smith.

the thing is, it's so soothing, the music is so easy on the ears and the title suggests such good things (which is part of why it's so brilliant), and all that means that this song is played on radio, tv, commercials, events, etc, in so many positive circumstances, that people lose the context.

I was aware of The Cure in the 80's but I obviously never really was listening...
