Imagine Madonna trying to cover Fleetwood Mac, but she's putting on twice the affectation - that is this song.  Well below RP quality.

As creepy as Vanessa's Father by Lauren Christy......  Can't imagine a tune on the other foot....  son singing about mommy.  F*&&^k!!!!

In his autobiography, Mick Fleetwood states that he is "Daddy". In that period when most of the band was cheating on their spouses  and uh, not getting along, Mick was Christine's pillar of strength, helping her hold it together while they tried to continue functioning as a band.  Nothing pervy intended. He was the adult in the band (and obviously the band leader). Interesting book, interesting band.

A lot of neg comments, too bad. You’ve missed the point — this is from a Fleetwood Mac tribute album...which implies that the contributors deeply admire the OG, they aren’t trying to outdo the orig, they are just humbly sharing their take on the greater OG’s work. This is how musicians appreciate and respect each other’s work, give ‘em a break.

Doesn't mean I have to like the excessive vocal fry and the creepy lyrics.
Hallo from Germany,

This is far better than the low ratings suggest. Great cover.

No. Just NO. Please don't try to sex-up perfection. Sounds corny as hell.

Agreed....I've got this one at a 5 though so apparently I like it more than most....Long Live RP!!

Perhaps it's the creepy, irritating, moany, breathy vocal?!
wow.
4.8 rating?
I actually like this version a lot (and, of course, I LOVE to Fleetwood Mac version)
I liked Christine McVie the most in FM
So.....you really have to be on her level to do a proper cover.
and   I know  there is no way to quantify this
Lol I love how consistent all of these comments are. "Just awful" and 'inexplicably crap' are two of my favourite comments :D
No No No! Don't know what adjective to use ... Dreadful? Dire? Awful? Terrible? ... All of them plus other equally relevant synonyms?
NO!

Another vote for creepy.

The creepiness is the intriguing thing about it.  Most of the "tribute" albums I've heard are pretty dull and most of the versions I've heard from this one are as well.  Still, I don't find this to be an especially good cover, other than them using an unusual approach.
I can't point to one single reason, but this is really crap.
Changing my vote from "creepy" to "gross."

Creepy - agreed.  And just not good.  Sounds like it should be a movie song on some 80's teen movie.
This is just awful.
One more "Oh, Daddy" and I'll hurl.

Probably a reason why there are relatively few Fleetwood Mac covers.
Oh god! Please make it stop. Appalling version.
