'''Big Time'''
One more town on the merry-go-round
One more room with no view
One more bum gettin' nothing but the shun
Tryin' to get a phone call to ya
Well now maybe I'll never
Get myself together
Maybe it's the end of the line
But I'm havin' a ball
I'm bouncin' off the wall
You're never too small
To hit the big time
One more slob feelin' sick as a dog
And playin' one more mess of the blues
One more dive more dead than alive
Tryin' to get my message through
Well now maybe I'll never
Get myself together
Maybe it's the end of the line
But I'm havin' a ball
I'm bouncin' off the wall
You're never too small
To hit the big time
(Never too small) (never too small)
I say you're never too small
To hit the big time
They can make you crawl
They can make you fall
But you're never too small
To hit the big time
(never too small) (never too small)
I say you're never too small
To hit the big time
If you're fat
If you're bald
Don't matter at all
Because you're never too small
I say you're never too small
To hit the Big time, yes indeed
(Big time) Limosines
(Big time) Well you can have it all
(Big Time) Bipbipbipbip yeah!
One more crowd shoutin', "Turn it up loud!"
One more rose at my feet
One more ring from that cute little thing
One more reason to cheat, yeah
Well now maybe I'll never
Get myself together
Maybe it's the end of the line
But I'm havin' a ball
I'm bouncin' off the wall
You're never too small
To hit the big time

I'm just curious...there's a list of highest-rated music...why not but a lowest-rated list there as well? What would a 2-average song be? Would it be Orange Red? And a 1 is Red?
COOL!
COOL!

Ha ha, of course it's corny! It's great. Love Webb Wilder. Doo Dad and It Came from Nashville are both excellent. This guy puts on a heck of a show, every single last time.
Definitely enjoying this and would love to see some more like it mixed in. One of my favorites is Mitch Woods and His Rocket 88s...good jump/swing.
corny
okay enough of this foolishness now
Sounds like the B-52s, but slightly better. That makes it a 5.
Bill's on a puke roll.

Yuck. I really don't think this fits in the RP format.
(RP doesn't have a format. Ain't that kinda zen-like?)
Webb used to play at the Zoo Bar back home in Lincoln fairly regularly. Can't recall the lead guitar, but Webb referred to him as the Twangler! Webb's a hell of a great guy and wildly entertaining. They really rocked hard, as per the creed...
If memory serves he was from Roanoke or D.C. ...
Yuck. I really don't think this fits in the RP format.

Must be something about the High Plains.
I've never heard this before but I like it a lot and it very much reminds me of early Joe Ely and The Maines Brothers. (I lived in the Panhandle for a time and spent too much of my time in honky-tonks from Spearman to Spur to Midland-Odessa, not to mention the TX Tech student hangouts in Lubbock.
Huh? Too much? I don't get it.
xoxox,

This whole disk is a good one. If you kinda like' this tune you will really love the rest of the album.
Of course I am a 'genuine' Webb Wilder fan.
Just tuned in and saw that I missed Webb. I own this CD and will have to dig it out.
As he describes himself:
Last of the full grown men. The idol of idle youth.
Not familiar with Webb Wilder -- but when I heard the song playing the background voices sounded like The Traveling Wilburys -- e.g., on "The Wilbury Twist." Cool sound.
Was this used in "fast times at ridgemont high?"

This tune takes me back to 1980.
All together now ... "Ahh-heyuk"
Webb is one of the coolest acts around. I am in the North Texas area and even ventured into the hinterlands Tulsa, Oklahoma to go see. If in your area for sure worth the trip
How can you go wrong with a credo like this:
Work Hard
Rock Hard
Eat Hard
Sleep Hard
Grow Big
Wear glasses if you need 'em

Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks! Wow a relatively obscure blast from the past.
Wish I had a copy of "It Came from Nashville" to upload. How Long can she last (going that fast) is great.
Do you all remember, and follow, the Webb Wilder Credo?
Most excellent to hear Webb here, great band live when you can catch them. Fun, crisp clean and tight sound. They are a real throwback to sittin round and jammin just for the simple pleasure of making music. Won't have many fans here among Radiohead worshippers but they are what they are and damn good at it.

Liked 'em better when they were called Sha-Na-Na.
really fun stuff!
It almost sounded like the singer from Midnight Oil at first. Not so much later in the song though. Not as good either.

Get a grip, what is it about free speech you do not understand.
