You know that my tears
Have kept me awake
The longer you're gone
I'll hunger and shake
From Warsaw to Rome
I'll wait out of time
With you in my heart
The Rhythm Divine

So won't you come close
Bring this to an end
With each Winter rose
My love I will send
So tender the night
When you hold me tight
With you in my heart
The Rhythm Divine

With you in my heart
The Rhythm Divine

You know that these tears
Have kept me awake
The longer you're gone
I'll hunger and shake
From Warsaw to Rome
I'll wait out of time
With you in my heart

I was just about to say - that's what I thought I was listening to. She owns the classic bond themes.
All her songs belong on a James Bond soundtrack!
What a voice.
Shirley knocks it out of the park on this one,go girl😘

Man, what set of pipes. I'll bet this is not even recorded at the studio, she just stands outside her house in Wales and sings and the mics in London pick it up.

That is a lovely and perfect vision !

Ours too  - always with a nod and a smile for the much missed Mr Wogan
Not enough of Yello on RP ...  :-(
I staggered in here just to see if this was a James Bond thing.  What a voice!
Good Lord that voice...
oohhh.......yeahhhh!
This, and History Repeating by the Propeller Heads, and the Bond themes.  And , well everything else she does.  Simply amazing.

This is an amazing, classic song from Yello, one of their best. That being said, I do prefer the original version from the One Second album over this mix.

Hadn't made it out loud, but think it every time I hear her name. Is it a peculiarly English thing - along with I'll get me coat?
Every time I hear this song I stop what I'm doing , close my eyes & grin.  Such a tremendous voice that carries me someplace new each time i hear it.
Ms Bassey is an acquired taste. Let's leave it at that
I initially gave this a rubbish rating, but second time around it sounds much much better.

Agreed, +2 to 9 today, for the soaring vocals AND how BillG uses the outro from this to segue to Younger Brother's "Ribbon on a Branch".

Long LiveRP and Plus Twos!!
That is a voice

I'm totally stymied by the low rating and some of the sicko-barfo comments. Shirley Bassey has a tremendous voice, easily worth 20 of the marshmellow little girl voices we're semi-smothered in. The backup music is minimal and a little slick. This is a classic song sung by a classic voice. Guess I feel like muttering, "Grow up"......

Totally agree...she makes the song as always
Why does my screen say Yello when clearly this is Shirley Bassey?  I would prefer Ms Bassey, so no complaints. Oh forget I asked.

How'd you miss Ferris Bueller's Day Off? :)
Yello. Pure genius. And Shirley Bassey's voice is a great choice.

Talent.  Double armloads of talent.  Shirley, the entire band and of course, the production team.  What a delight.
Oh Yeah!!
Classic James Bond vibes here
DIVINE! Kinda fun to imagine Jackie Treehorn mixing up a mean Caucasian for The Dude while this plays in a Malibu beach-house...
+2 for the singer
Been a Yello fan for 40 years. Whenever I play this track with others around I'm always asked "Who IS that?"
Wow! Shirley Bassey!!

I totally agree. Same tempo and vocals.
Damn,  that is a voice.
It's Shirley Bassey!  How I love You, Shirley!

What does Vienna Teng have to do with this song? Apart from being a female vocalist, I can't draw any connection between them.
I always loved Shirley Bassey's strong voice - probably made more with Bond than anything else she's done. She's lovely and I hope she had fun with this!
Feel like I'm watching a James Bond opening.
More Yello please. I discovered them in 89.
Unique then and now. Great creativity. Highly listenable.
Not to everyones taste that's for sure, but hey that's music.
Dear ol' Burly Chassis - straight outta Tiger Bay and into your lug 'oles to curl your hair from the inside. Voice!!!!
This is how you do it!

I was going to comment that this song sounds like the child of Leonard Cohen and Shirley Bassey, but apparently I was only half right.

I can totally imagine Cohen gravelling out this song tho.

Never understood Shirley Bassey. I don't think her talent is equal to her confidence. This is a 1 with a PSD on the side.

Today, PSDd into Tom Waits. Avoiding a singer most regard as talented; but that I don't like, to a singer most revile and I adore. Nice. The Universe throws you those every-so-often.
Would have been a 10 for the version Billy Mackenzie sings.

She hasn't come back to Cardiff in years.   Her sister is still about thou.  In fact the area of Portmanmoor Road where I'm told she grew up is now an industrial estate.   more...

Rhythmic songs are wonderful as always
The song that Shirley Bassey was born to sing. Certainly the best performance of hers that I've heard.

Wow!  I had rated this a 9.  Huge mistake.  Definitely a 10!
Holy golden lungs batman! Shirley can bring it.
10 out of 10 for Ms Bassey, but the rest gets a -8!
SING IT, Shirley!
Liked this until the whistling.

Hello skeptics.  Did any of you yokels happen to catch the Oscars this year?  Okay, okay, I know I'm venturing way out on thin ice, BUUUUTTTTTT, Shirley Bassey absolutely smoked ALL the other Grammy winning performers who appeared.  It was no contest, at age 75+, she delivered nothing short of a lesson to all the highly acclaimed upstarts.  Show-offy, okay so she was years and years ahead of her time.  Another artist who's the real-deal.

Thanks RP for spinnin' another winner.

My parents used to HATE Shirley Bassey's singing. Well, they hated Liza Minelli's voice, too, and Barbra Streisand's, and anyone else who could belt out a lyric with power enough to shatter crystal. They considered it "showboating." Feh.  I figure anyone who can sustain a note for over 20 seconds deserves accolades for that feat alone. If they can hold the note on-key, so much the better. Ms. Bassey has more than earned kudos for that. I have a new appreciation for her vocal gifts, thanks to RadioParadise.

A pure-essence romance. I just upped to a 10 from 9.

I recall Philip Glass explaining, I think while describing "Nixon in China," that he did not particularly care for the operatic voice. And I think, tho' he didn't say exactly what or who he did prefer, he would prefer voices like Bassey's or Streisand's—vibrant, expressive without necessarily having all the gymnastic requirements of the classically trained voice; i.e., the 30-second note. I'd love to hear, say, Katy Perry do "Aida" or Chris Isaak "The Marriage of Figaro" if only to bring the singing down to earth.

Or as a friend put it once, "Oh, you want to make Mozart over into Gilbert and Sullivan." {#Lol}

Def James Bondish lol but nice stuff! {#Devil_pimp}

Love this song.is an updated version from the one i knew .but still great.
