See into the trees
Find the girl
If you can
Come closer and see
See into the dark
Just follow your eyes
Just follow your eyes
I hear her voice
Calling my name
The sound is deep
In the dark
I hear her voice
And start to run
Into the trees
Into the trees
Into the trees
Suddenly I stop
But I know it's too late
I'm lost in a forest
All alone
The girl was never there
It's always the same
I'm running towards nothing
Again and again and again and again
people please try to listen to music with better headphones and better speakers. get the best you can afford and look it all up - it matters. the hi hat cymbal that is present is your heart racing as you run through the forest not knowing where you are!
AND -- remember to set your Radio Paradise stream resolution to "FLAC" to take advantage of William's investments to heighten our listening pleasure.

Yes its was..... when I saw them in San Francisco 27 years ago....

I really do like the original version much better
Agreed. Although this is fine.
And yet Robert is the one who released it.....
That's why it's genius

Great tune, except for that annoying clicking noise!
I AGREE! GREAT TUNE! ...annoying clicking noise!
There is a "club' (camp) at Burning Man called Planet Earth that plays new wave /80s dance music every year (except this past cancelled year)... where you might find someone dressed like this dancing.. to this song
I might be a bit old for this, but let me in anyway...
Sweet reply, friend. Works for me, too.

Perfect picture for this moment.
Original master tape of A Forest was lost.
$$$

It is still a sacrilege.

Wtf?
On the other hand. . . I class this as a wonderful interpretation of the track and love it to pieces. Thus, I have the Yang to your Yin. . . or something

Agree: the original was good, this is an unnecessary remake. As if meant only to make more money from the original song. A real pity.
Disagree. One version is great for at home while you're burning your incense and writing poems and the other is great for when you're at the goth club and you wanna get all the perky goths up, dancing, and buying drinks.
Also, does anyone know who Anna Gayne is?

BOB ON!
such an awful mix
Agreed!
You can't see the forest for the trees.
—-M. Nesmith
such an awful mix
ditch this and give us the original with the brilliant guitar work, not this '80s dance club remix" synth crap
Yup
not heard this version before.

Yeah, maybe, but those monkeys are keeping a tight beat .....
And I couldn't get to my PC fast enough to give this a 9.
I concur!
Uggggg...

Uhhhhhhhh, that's CHAN Poling.

Uggggg...
Very nice in this "tree" mix!
Thanks!
no talent hacks.
Leave Bob's music alone!
you and I may have different ideas of what is meant by a 'great rack'. What I think of as a great rack cannot be ruined by a computer, unless the computer is large and blocks the view, or heavy and squashes it.

All photos in Playboy are airbrushed, everybody knows that.
Yes! PLEASE stop playing this version. This seems to be the only Cure I hear on RP and I want the original!!!

LP
Not entirely unexplainable considering Steven's previous cover version... Therefore, Puncture Wound might qualify as an obvious tribute rather than a blatant and shameless rip-off

I like this version. Very much!!!
Had this on my marriage. Cool party.
Have nearly all Cure records.
You had this for your whole marriage! Not just your wedding? I'm impressed!

Original = one of the Cure's best songs
This - really annoying at times and loses points from there for making me want to hear the original version even more.
TOTALLY AGREE. the whole album 'seventeen seconds' was a masterpiece, and a largely overlooked work by the Cure...
Good highway music too.
...again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...

...ye gads, mixed up was an abomination, never enough and close to me excepted...
Not sure about this particular mix - but the original version is a great track

I have always dug this song, love the guitar!
Hi, do you think that this song (and lyrics especially) is originaly from Nouvelle Vague? Name is same, lyrics as I listened, melody fairy also too...? Who took over from it from whom? Thanks
Nouvelle Vague covered The Cure, obviously..

Gentlemen,
I don't think either of you can see the forest through the trees, you're both branching off from the main point. Don't beat around the bush, just state the obvious, which is; the timbre of Robert Smith's voice is less annoying than usual in this ode to our tall green friends.
