4:57 am - Bruce Cockburn - Open 7:49 am - Bruce Cockburn - Tried & Tested I like Wondering Where the Lions Are. But really, it's all too much BC.

My thoughts, exactly. That was the first BC song I ever heard, on MTV back when they used to play music videos.

Thanks. :-& Now that's stuck in my head.

Far from it! I love this song...now.

Hey is this yet another cover of \"Rapture\" by Blondie? :D
This has been described as "lame rap" but it reminds me of something else entirely, that being a defiant invocation, an incantation, as in "When shall we three meet again ?" ( "by" this, "by" that, "by" etcetera ) of all the opposing evils, by one who has been "Tried and Tested" and is still "Dancing in the Dragon's Jaws".
I am in clipping path hell and this song accents the repetition.
Fair tune, this---how is it that Cockburn's "If I Had a Rocket Launcher" is not included? Too 80's? Well, "Turning Japanese" was heard earlier today........
Had to revise it up from 2 to 4. Am I starting to get Bruce I wonder. 2 was way harsh
I have heard this song too many times! Please reduce it\'s rotation to zero for a long, long time.
I am very surprised at the negative reaction to Bruce here. RP has added much depth to my knowledge of this artist and I have fallen in love with his music. He gave a STELLAR performance last night at the Bottom Line in NY, one of the best shows my wife and I have ever seen by anyone. While this is not the best cut on the album, it is terrific in my opinion, and the album itself is so diverse in style and polished that it deserves a Grammy nomination. \"Trickle Down\" is a masterpiece; maybe you can try this one out on RP, Bill/Rebecca?
Yuck.
Gah! i just can\'t take this every freaking day... Time to ease up on the rotation IMO.

Yup, the more i hear it, the more i like it as well. not bad for a Canuck....

Maybe it's the speakers.. but I can't hear the lyrics clearly anyway so I wouldn't be going nuts even if I was right-wing. Quasi-Christian... is that like the diet coke of Christianity?
Nice musical groove but the \"rap\" is really lame.
The more I hear this song, the more I like it. Thanks RP. I have had to carry CD's for years to get my daily fix of Bruce Cockburn. I love that I can hear him mixed in with other music I enjoy.

A little vaseline would prevent Cockburn.
this song wears me out
What? Is this song on a daily rotation now?

I used to get the same thing. The same thing every time: Some dude that I hardly knew would assume based a short discussion of musical tastes that Bruce Cockburn was right up my alley, and then would proceed to play some for me. And I would sit there with a polite smile, and nod, and think silently to myself, "uuhhhh.....what's so great about this guy???"
you know, cockburn can come up with some catchy melodies, but sometimes his lyrics are just overblown and boring. geez, bruce, lighten up sometime, willya?
This is one of those cool-cruising-in-my-sedan songs.
eccch. Time to turn down the volume for a while.

I think he failed the test. :p
i am usually a very enthusiastic Cockburn fan but this one is beyond me. Ugh. pretentious and monotonous.

Indeed! After what, 28 albums, his music is still GREAT and speaks about what's going on in our world.
This guy hardly merits the air time he gets here on RP. Is he a relative or something?
Tried, Tested and failed miserably.
I despise this more every time I hear it.

What, the fact that the guitar line is great isn't enough? They don't all have to be quotable...
More bruce! Again he shows his music can evolve.
there is an ending to this, right?
Wow... lot of hatred for this song... I dunno, I find that I really like the simplicity of it. There is something mesmerizing about the song\'s riff. And the song has a nice ebb and flow. Good stuff IMHO... I might just have to buy one of his albums.
This is intellectual laziness. :( :( :(

Bruce seems to run hot and cold.

rp loves this guy. i find him pretty bland, though.
MAJOR HO HUM
Saw him solo in a concert hosted by Jackson Browne in Sedona, AZ. Great stuff. Cynical lyrics embedded in mesmerizing music lines. If you want more try \"If I had a Rocket Launcher\" and \"If This Were the Last Day of the World\". Looking at the titles now it looks like he is a sick puppy but the songs are great!
Yawn.
