Sometimes I get a good feeling
I get a feeling that I never, never had before
And I got to tell you right now
I believe, I really do believe that
Something's got a hold on me
(Oh, it must be love)
Something's got a hold on me right now child
(Yeah, it must be love)
Let me tell you now
I never felt like this before
Something's got a hold on me that won't let go
I believe I'd die if I only could
I sure feel strange, but I sure feel good
I said, oh yeah
It must be love
(You know it must be love)
Let me tell you now
Something's got a hold on me
(Oh, it must be love)
Something's got a hold on me right now child
(Yeah, it must be love)
Let me tell you now
I got a feeling, I feel so strange
Everything about me seems to have changed
Step by step, I got a brand new walk
I even sound sweeter when I talk
I said, oh yeah
It must be love
(You know it must be love)
Let me tell you now
My heart feels heavy, my feet feel light
I shake all over, but I feel alright
I never felt like this before
Something's got a hold on me that won't let go
I never thought it could happen to me
My heart was heavy when in misery
I never thought it could be this way
Love's sure gonna put a hurting on me
I said oh yeah
It must be love
(You know it must be love)
Yeah he walks kike love
(Yeah he walks like love)
And he talks like love
(And he talks like love)
Makes me feel alright
(Makes me feel alright)
In the middle of the night
(In the middle of the night)
Na na na na!
I get a feeling that I never, never had before
And I got to tell you right now

Some songs just aren't long enough, which, makes them just right.

Etta James at the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, California. 13 August 2008.
When I met her in 2001, Etta James was just about the sweetest woman you'd ever hope to meet. She was exactly what you would want your grandmother to be.
Now, seven years later at age 70, I have to assume she's still just that sweet. BUT...when the Queen of the Blues starts singing those dirty blues numbers, things turn nazzty. That sweet, grandmotherly woman is filthy! And, I like it.

I just checked and there's not a single Marcia Ball tune on RP. This must change!

New Year's Eve found us at home (Mrs. Lizard is recovering from surgery) watching Daryl Hall's "Live from Daryl's House" best-of compilation on WGN. We heard two amazing voices that we hadn't been aware of: Eli "Paperboy" Reed and Fitz and the Tantrums with lead singer Michael Fitzpatrick. '60s soul never sounded so sweet! Check 'em out.

yeah, good movie—well done.

Yeah, like really singing for a change. She has a bigger voice in her left ear lobe than 99% of todays "singers"!
I know Etta had a couple of problems, but does she drink, take cocaine and down animal tranquilizers before cancelled concerts, too?

Wonderful. If you like the soul style, see the following: (click here)
I just heard it: a soundscaped version Etta James' first verse of this song has been used by Avicii in his 2011 song "Levels".
Find Avicii's lyrics to see for yourself.
And once again, we all have Bill to thank for playing this classic. Thank you so much.
