The air was more than human and
The heat was more than hungry and
The cars were square and spitting diesel fumes

The bulls were running wild
Because they're big and mean and sacred and
The children were playing cricket with no shoes

The next morning we woke up, man
With a seven hour drive
Well, there we were stuck in Port Blaire
Where boats break and children stare

There were so many fewer questions
When stars were still just the holes to Heaven
And there were so many fewer questions
When stars were still just the holes to Heaven

Disembarking from the port
With no mistakes of any sort
Moving south the engine running smooth

Officials were quite friendly
Once we drowned them with our sweet talk
We bribed them with our cigarettes and booze

The next morning we woke up, man
With the sunrise to the right
Moving back north to Port Blaire
Where boats break and children stare

There were so many fewer questions
When stars were still just the holes to Heaven
Yes and there were so many fewer questions
When stars were still just the holes to Heaven

Jack Johnson and G Love play together all the time. To illustrate that point, when asked whether the two would share the stage at a festival they both were attending, a roadie for G Love replied, "Of course they are. They're in the same hemisphere."

G. Love got Jack his start.  They met surfing and G.Love put one of Jack's songs (Rodeo Clowns) on his Philadelphonic album.  Now G.Love is on Jack's label Brushfire Records.
JJ does a lot of touring with Ben Harper. No comparison in showmanship, Ben steals the show. Jack is the king of 'campfire' songs - not stadium anthems. Still he's a skilled musician.
I can't get over the fact that every song I hear from this guy I like. It's always a simple song with a simple melody but I hooks me. I just continues to prove that you don't necessarily have to have the chops of a Jeff Beck to be good. .......I guess that falls in the duh category!!
Great lyricist and story teller. Jack appeared on G-Love's 98ish release, Philadelphonic with Rodeo Clowns. They've played and collaborated a lot.

Wow, I've never heard him -- or of him in fact -- before. Very nice!
I can never get enough Jack Johnson, and this is definitely one of my favorites.

that's an interesting. when i saw jack johnson at the coachella festival, he brought g love out on stage to perform with him for a bit. it didn't really work. jack johnson is WAY better than g love, who came off as a silly self-promoter. anyway, jack johnson was spellbinding. even if rp listeners aren't quite getting it yet, this guy is a wonderful, soulful talent.

That's funny. The more I hear this guy, the more i think he sounds a lot like G Love. Which is okay.
there is a fine line between the same and simple - i prefer to think of Jack Johnson as simple... which i mean as a compliment.

Genius lyrics, tasty guitar, just the right amount of production. No wonder Jack Johnson is getting very popular.
