Why does every Blues Traveler song sound like every other Blues Traveler song I've ever heard?

After years of listening to RP, this is the first Blues Traveler cut I've heard. I agree that it's not their best work. Hopwzabowt "he Hook"?

Don't really understand the hate. I have always liked these guys and the gave a pretty good show. I guess they got overplayed in the 90's but I never really listened to the radio that much after the mid 80's when the stations started going to the classic rock format or top 40 programed music.
Yer all insane, his lyrics are wonderful! Yes, his voice isn't a nice as "Whitney" but c'mon! Dylan is revered and his voice is abysmal!! This is good stuff!!
as much as I hate to sound like everyone else here I would rather just hear him play harmonica and not sing. I can't explain it.
Certainly no new ground broken musically for this band, but listenable just the same. Popper's voice isn't that hard to take, really.

This stuff is awful, it's music like this that drove me away from the radio and onto the internet. :P
As others have said, I really cannot stand this guy's voice. What's even worse is watching him sweat out a song on TV. Yikes.

I'm not usually one for rebuttles, but check your music history. Lead harmonica was as common in blues and country (two of the primary influences of rock and roll) as lead guitar. Just because Popper's solos all start to sound alike after a few listens doesn't devalue the instrument to that of a shiny kazoo (which are shiny anyways, if you buy a real one). Do yourself a favor and give a few of these guys a listen sometime:

A good BT song. Not a great one, but a good one. When this band is great, they are incredible. For instance, the majority of Save His Soul is awe-inspiring.
I am slowly coming to detest the voices like this. The whiny (?) nasal (?) is irritating
