Seal my fate
I get your tongue in the mail
No one is wise
Until they see how it lies
Love this life
Don't wait 'til the next one comes
Gonna pedal my faith
The wheels are still turning round, turn round
And maybe the day will come
When you'll never have to feel no pain
After all my complaining
Gonna love this life, gonna love this life
Love this life, love this life
And so they threw you in jail
Whatever you've done
It was a million to one
And don't you just love this life
When it's holding you down?
Gonna pedal my faith
The wheels are still turning round, turn round
So maybe the day will come
When you'll never have to feel no pain
After all my complaining
Gonna love this life, gonna love this life
Gonna love this life, gonna love this life
Gonna love
Here's something that you can do
Even if you think that I hate you
Stop your complaining
Leave me defenseless
When you love this life, gonna love this life
Gonna love this life, though you'll never know why
Gonna love this life, gonna love
I get your tongue in the mail
No one is wise
Until they see how it lies
Love this life
Don't wait 'til the next one comes

I get your tongue in the mail?!
A bit more than Mellow in my view, but a delightful NZ to the world track! Class abounds! Xx mm

Its the 30 May and on Islay its Ardbeg Day (whisky) so having a a dram, or two, and RP hits the spot with Crowded House!

Thank you, the Finns and all of the members of all of the bands they've been in, for some beautiful music.

I adore Crowded House. Love all their stuff.
When I hear folks comment "80s music sucked" I remind them of a couple things; 1) not all pop music comes from the US or UK and 2) bands like Crowded House put out great music and many didn't get enough US airplay (see comment #1)
I just had to elevate my rating to an 8 on this one. LONG LIVE RP!!
Take a genius Kiwi (or two at times), a sublime bassist and painter from Melbourne, and a wacky talented drummer, and cue it up.
A prophetic precursor to the emotional context void of non face to face communication. You could blow it back then, and even more so now.

I see what you mean :-)
kind of ambiguous lyrics... what's he on about?
Always enjoyed hearing big brother Tim on backing vocals for this tune.
Love Crowded House ... lot of respect for Neil Finn too, he continues to experiment and explore on various projects. His brother Tim is a douche, good job he got booted out after Woodface.
Don't mind a bit of the Crowdies now and again.
I adore Crowded House. Love all their stuff.
One of my most favorite songs by CH and in general. Love this tune.
Romeo's mundane comments aside ... Finn's vocals ARE easy on the ears. Or so good for the ears. Or whatever babble he/she always says.
Nice choice Bill....
Hey now hey now ...
I underappreciated these guys back in the day. Now the more I hear them, the more I love them.
Was today the first play?
Is there a more confident song writer who's lyrics reflect as much sensitivity as Mr. Finn's?
Love that this song has a near God-Like rating yet has never been played. This song has arguably my favorite outro of any song I've ever heard. Hope it finds its way into the rotation.

In Australia and NZ he and the Crowdies as they're affectionally known are definitely very mainstream
