"Slow down, you move too fast"
We could all do with a bit of that advice eh?
is this for kindergarten class?
These are the lyrics:

Slow down, you move too fast
You got to make the morning last
Just kicking down the cobblestones
Looking for fun and feeling groovy
Ba da-da da-da da-da, feeling groovy
Hello lamppost, what'cha knowing
I've come to watch your flowers growin'
Ain't you got no rhymes for me?
Doo-ait-n-doo-doo, feeling groovy
Ba da-da da-da da-da, feeling groovy
I got no deeds to do, no promises to keep
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morningtime drop all its petals on me
Life, I love you, all is groovy

I can see this opening a "Brady Bunch: The Motion Picture", had one been made in the early 1970s.

Opening credits roll, this song plays.  Scenes of Mike driving from the office, Marcia walking home from school with her friends, Peter out back tossing a baseball with Greg, etc.

Ha! Grow down to the innocence of '66.
Your draft number is: ?
Good medicine for a bad pill at the time

Maybe I'm a real sappy child of the 60s, but this song makes me smile everytime I hear it.
I was 11 years old when this album came out, and I loved it!  55 years later, I still do!
While this song was not my favorite song on the album, I have to admit that every time it played, I would instantly go to a happy place, and I still do.
I gotta admit that feelin' groovy is never a bad place to go to, even if only for a couple of minutes.
A minute and fifty-one seconds of happiness...we could all use a little more of that these days...

H.R. Pufnstuf!

I remember reading somewhere that Paul Simon successfully sued the producers of that show for their song too closely resembling this one.  I believe he is now given co-writing credits for the H. R. Pufnstuf theme.
Thanks funky flunkies 🌼

This is one of the first songs whose lyrics I could pick and understand as a young teenager. Made me love English even more. What a nice language, and what a nice tune

I was exposed to S&G at an early age.  I can recall listening to them in probably first grade.   This track was a favorite.

I also remember an awkward conversation with my mother when I asked her about the lyrics to Cecilia.

I always have loved this song. However, I must admit I personally enjoy the Williamsburg Bridge a bit more than the 59th Street Bridge, as it's in my neighborhood and such a please to walk across into NYC.

Of the 4 East River bridges, the Williamsburg may be the most challenging for a bicyclist, followed by the Queensborough 59th (monster steep and long), then the Manhattan. The Bklyn is a piece of cake -- shorter and not steep -- but pesky and inattentive tourists always wander and intrude in the bike lane. I don't feel groovy when I have to yell to get them out of the way. They feel entitled to my go go space. They oughta listen to RP.

{#Roflol}I am back in my happy place now............
This is a cool song. Groovy indeed.
