I'll be your chauffeur on a midnight drive
It takes a miracle just to survive
Your favourite animals call your name
You keep on sleeping through the poignant rain

I think we're going crazy
Her left eye is lazy
She looks so Israeli
Nicotine and gravy

I'll feed you fruit that don't exist
I'll leave graffiti where you've never been kissed
I'll do your laundry, massage your soul
I'll turn you over to the highway patrol

I think we're going crazy
Her left eye is lazy
She looks so Israeli
Nicotine and gravy

''(Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na)
(Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na)''

I think we're going crazy
Things don't even faze me
Her left eye is lazy
Nicotine and gravy

Miracles amaze me
She looks so Israeli
Love the way she plays me
Think I'm going crazy

I don't want to die tonight
I don't want to die tonight
I don't want to die tonight
I don't want to die tonight

I don't want to die tonight
I don't want to die tonight
I don't want to die tonight
I don't want to die tonight

I'll be your chauffeur on a midnight drive
It takes a miracle just to survive

Don't get me wrong, I like Beck. But I DO have to wonder how he sings with all those cottonballs in his mouth... Semi-funky song. For a true definition, refer to the preceding Stevie Wonder "I Wish" for a godlike demonstration. But, for Beck, this is respectable.
Further proof that Beck's sucking is not confined to any particular genre. Gargh.
Stole that crescendo bit in the middle right from the Beatles and didn't do it half as well. Otherwise some others here are right, it sounds like Prince. In the bad way.

You SO said it, buster! Beck is freaking amazing. Let me stop there. He's too short for me and I'm married anyway.
Has anyone noticed how Beck's albums are sort of a genre unto themselves? And how other artists "sound like Beck," rather than being in "_____ genre where similar artists like Beck live." That's the sign of artistic immortality. He will outlive the nations.
Mmm... two great tastes that taste great together.

Beck getting his Prince on...
That's an excellent way to describe it. I agree. I guess he was partying like it was 1999.
Beck getting his Prince on...
I like a few Beck tunes, but a lot of his stuff is just 70's hooks remixed... and even though it is tremendously fashionable right now I just don't like most of it. The ones I do like I think are really good though. flame away
<3 beck! this is a good one. i like all of the different elements of it. it's a lot to pay attention to.

Actually, IMHO, Sea Change is equally as good--but especially if you're feeling more deep and laid back.
Sea Change and Midnite Vultures are two classics in two polar-opposite styles. That's why Beck is a genius.

And to think I picked up this gem in a delete bin for $5. I agree - excellent through and through.

"Her left eye is lazy, she looks so Israeli" Damn...and I always thought Israeli's were hot.
