Well all right, so I've been foolish.
Well all right, let people know
About the dreams and wishes that you wish
In the night when lights are low.
Well all right, well all right,
You know we live and love with all our might.
Well all right, well all right,
You know our lifetime love will be all right.
Well all right, so I'm not working.
Well all right, let people say
That those foolish kids can't be ready
For the love that comes their way.
Well all right, well all right,
You know we live and love with all our might.
Well all right, well all right,
You know our lifetime love will be all right.

Did Talking Heads or D.Byrne copy the very beginning base line here?

Very well put. People forget that early Beatles LPs were half American R&R covers.

Wikipedia says the album cover 'with the airplane' was banned in the US. I have a distinct memory of seeing it in a record store in Philly. My 16 year old self was shocked!Shocked! And intrigued. No way could I bring that home.
I did get to see the band at the Spectrum though- 'The New Cream' !

Your FAVORITE Santana song? Man, please get educated on the Santana catalogue. There's a lot more there than OK covers of covers. Well All Right is on a slightly substandard album of Santana's middle period output.
I guess you must be fun at parties

10 for Winwood. 2 for Clapton.
This version is a 9. Only Buddy gets a 10.

When in doubt--cover Holly, Dylan, or The Beatles. Hell, even The Beatles and the Stones covered Holly. 'Nuff said.

If only I could stomach the vocals.

Buddy Holly wrote this song.
One album on my desert island.

Actually, not really happy with it. I guess something went wrong and this song is coming back for a spin way too soon. I think I have listened to it early in the morning or last night...

Shows how influential Buddy Holly really was. His songs are kind of like the foundation everything else is built on. It's great to hear the endless reworkings of his songs.

I carried this very record to a housewarming party tonight. I didn't get a chance to play it because we went down the street and heard a most excellent local band...ok, so, I don't know whether to laugh or cry, so I think I'll just believe...

PSD seems very intuitive.
Can't find my way home...
Love, love love Buddy Holly. Blind Faith - meh.
Do what you like..
Keep it plugging, Bill! Another one of the power groups. Eric Clapton discovering that other folks are figuring out things with him, past him, etc.
More Blind Faith. Do What You Like we'd all like.

It's amazing how many artists/groups include Holly songs in their repertoires—fertile ground that:
Beatles - Words of Love
Stones - Not Fade Away
Blondie - Gonna Love You Too
Blind Faith - Well All Right
...and many, many more.

Now we talking, this is great.

That was a 10.

Hey, Bill just played some Buddy Holly...
The first few notes sounded just like an Allman Brothers song.
When I was 18 and learning guitar and starting in bands (mid 80s), this album was it for me. We had a drummer who loved Ginger Baker (and looked a bit like him), and I loved Clapton. I wanna see the video of Blind Faith at Hyde Park again - it was life changing at the time.
I thought this was the cover to the Cowsill's first LP .

Made the show anyway...and what a stellar performance it was.
I like this version, although it would be great to hear Santana's version getting some RP airplay sometime
That piano/guitar bit in the middle remind anyone else of the music for
Fraggle Rock?

Sing it again, Stevie! Not to mention the other stars in this stellar line-up!
How do you do it Bill? You have excellent taste!!!

Stevie brings his jazz chops and steals the show. Monster talent throughout the lineup - epic album.
Props to BH for the source material.

YEAH! Way to break it down at the end. This song is ALL RIGHT!!!
LOVE love love love this song!
Love this whole album. There's just something about Stevie's voice, a nice reedy quality. Like a nice sax solo.
Nice piano work.

sorry, I\'m not hitching a ride in that painted combi van to tripsville.
next .
Well, 21 anyway, but who's counting? I'm just amazed how well this album has held up over the years. When it came out, I was of the opinion that the sixties had finally ODed on the whole super group phenomenon. While that may have been so, the album is still impressive.

yes, I vote for \"Can\'t Find My Way Home\", too! talk about deeply moving/haunting songs...
Listening to all the masterful stuff Winwood has done in the past, makes me long for his come-back. \'Back in the Highlife\' was the last, really convincing album he came up with.
Did he peak too soon?
Good choice, Bill. How about \"Can\'t Find My Way Home\" from the same album? Thanks.
