Picked up the 2016 copy recently.  outstanding.
sounds like a parody of the Floyd... by the Floyd, that's the problem.

👍.... For the retort! What you replied to came from somewhere outta left field or something.... Closing pub act my arse! As I posted elsewhere... Masterpieces. Nothing less. A pub would be fortunate to have this as a selection on a jukebox!

Whether it's this version or, the other, with lyrics..... Nothing less than brilliant masterpieces! SO glad that PF is still crankin out such awesomely cool tunes! Mr. Plant, of LZ fame, also! The Guy is an Everready bunny! God bless all of them and, all that they have contributed to our listening pleasure! And God bless Radio Paradise, for presenting us with an "unequalled" jukebox of some of the finest music, not heard but very few, if any, other places! 🔥❤️👍

Wow, I'm obviously going to the WRONG pubs - the type where the show closer is  a couple of flying beers and a ' leave it Bryan, he's not worth it' row
Happy Birthday Rick.  Well, tomorrow would have been your 80th birthday.
Sounds like a parody of the Pink by The Pink.

Channeling a bit of Tom Morello in that solo. Actually, I think it's the other way around!

Gilmour just made so many more interesting tracks. So this is a meager 6

hack guitarist. every note a cliche
A little boring solo, it's more trick of the trade than inspiration.
Waters or no Waters, this is a great disc.

It does go on forever, doesn't it? I've never made it to the end.
The video for this track over on YouTube is mesmerizing.  The first half is footage shot on the ISS, then suddenly transfers to a dreary winter post-Soviet scene shot at the city of Prityat, near Chernobyl.

When things moved from LPs to CDs, creative effort on cover art moved to creative effort on a music video (much more expensive, sadly). What is it now though?

There should be a law against giving anything featuring Mr Gilmore's plank-spanking talents less than 10.

I always used to think the cover art to Division Bell was a painting and was surprised to learn it's actually a photograph! Also interestingly that's Ely cathedral in the background
Love Floyd, can't stand this though.
Got a new laptop at work.  Listened to this about 45 minutes ago on my old PC.  Then it came time to swap the old PC out of the docking station and move in the new one.  To my delight it started up with Gilmour's glorious guitar work.

This whole album is good and plays well as a whole like their others.  Rock stations at the time were over the moon to have something new and good to play.   Kind of the last hurrah of album rock.   Saw this concert tour as well.
Interesting....the previous three comments refer to Love Making, Porn and solo's going on-and-on, forever.....nice!  I'll give it a 9!  Long Live RP!!

Ah, a nice track from one of Jeff Becks more recent alb......uh, wait a sec...never mind. Next thing ya know it'll be followed by Porcupine Tree.           Doh!
its alright, but sounds more like a demo than a finished floyd tune.

Woah, that's a deep cut. Judging by the average rating, you chose well, pulling a wonderfully ethereal song from an otherwise so-so post glory days album.
The undisputed master of guitar tone.
I love this song .
Sometimes, even though I know his songs by heart, David Gilmour's distinctive guitar can excite all my synapses in yet a new way!

Got the house shaking with this at the moment......I'm sure the neighbours think that Dave Gilmour is doing an impromptu concert in my back garden :)
I suspect that this is what the new Pink Floyd Endless River album (never thought I would type those words again) will sound like.  Soundscapey, instrumental, slower pace.  Fine with me, I'll take it.
For those that do like this, search youtube for the clip - Pink Floyd - Marooned (Official Video), turn out the lights and turn up the sound.

All part of the upcoming 20th anniversary release of The Division Bell and the various box set offerings.
Totally not boring, a 10 min. guitar solo........

Didn't they get a Grammy for this?
I was big into PF when this was released, but poo-poo'd this album because Waters wasn't involved.  Apparently I made a mistake.
This album came out at a particularly low point of my life, so all my memories of it aren't stellar, but it, and I, endure, and that buoys me.

So I'm just reading some notes from the last tune, when I hear the guitar signaling the beginning of the next song, and I don't have to look to know it's gotta be DG!!!

By all that's good and holy...  this song just screams for a toke and a cool summer breeze...

I know that there are people out there that don't like Pink Floyd, just like I know that there are people out there that think the world is flat...  Logically I get that, but I'll NEVER understand it.

marooned? i suppose you could say we are all left marooned by this tedious snoozefest.

In this particular song, the lead guitar is enhanced by the use of a Whammy Pedal, which kicks the note up an octave (or swept anywhere in-between) with a foot pedal, much like a Wah Pedal.  A Whammy Pedal can be a really cheesy effect, but David Gilmour shows its proper use in this song - adding those octave sweeps only occasionally, playing at the upper octave then sweeping back down to the normal guitar.  It's not the sweeping up and down that is the highlight (as in said cheesy use of the pedal), but rather the creative use of the access to the upper octave.  Good stuff.
