It's been ten long years since I've been home
I've been waiting here with nowhere to go
It's an occupation I don't like
But it pays the rent and turns on the light (alright)

I told you so
It has to be
Cut loose and runaway with me
We'll go out every night
I'll be there by your side
And we'll all get high down the old west side

If it ain't the job and it ain't the place
But I must stay for your pretty face
It's a bad reaction I can't fix
You conned me with those feline tricks

And I told you so
It's a crazy world
For a mixed-up guy
And a no-good girl

And I told you so
It's a crazy world
For a mixed-up guy
With a no-good girl

(Take her, take the world)

I told you so
It has to be
Cut loose and run away (run away) with me
We'll go out every night
I'll be there by your side
And we'll all get high down the old west side

Down the old west side
Down the old west side
Down the old west side
(Take the world, yeah)

It's like bad reggae and bad electronica had an ugly baby.
New Order's rejected "spec song" for the soundtrack of Star Wars Episode 1: the Phantom Menace.  They really thought George Lucas would go for the blaster sound effects.

Sounds like bad Genesis. And that's saying something. :-&
That really cracked me up. End Pong abuse!
Well I'm getting "Perpetual Dawn" by The Orb here...
This song is VERY interesting and great to dance to :)
New Order is sooooooooooooo boring. Yawn.
Tripe. Trite.
Just struck me, that beginning is like Bill Shatner's " Common People". Thought it was...
I don't think I ever heard a single song from Get Ready on RP. I'm a longtime fan, and that's my favorite CD by New Order. This tune is growing on me but Get Ready is far better.
Hmmm...Plastikmusik
I thought this was a new song by the Backstreet Boys or something. Wondered "What the hell is this doing on RP?"...scrolled up, and there it was, confirming what I never would have assumed..."New Order - I Told You So" Why, New Order? Why? :(
I TOTALLY hear the Ace of Base vibe...but does anyone else hear a little Squeeze, as well? Not my favorite tune, but it does get my toe tappin'.
Sounds like bad Genesis. And that's saying something. :-& No thanks, this is as ho hum as they get.

I heard this come on and was all "Why is RP playing Ace of Base" ...all that she wants, is another baby... shocked to find New Order. This sucks and I love New Order and this sucks.
Yeah, I just thought the exact same thing, having already forgotten the last time I heard it. But it does get better after the Ace of Base intro. A little better, anyway. Well, not much. But a little.
This used to be my favourite band....what happened? So sad!!

I agree, but consider the "sound" that is now...not then. Sort of like Billy Idol's latest effort. Only he went cowboy.
I thought the same thing! The first time I heard Lady Do or Die I thought to myself "When did Billy Idol go country? And start ripping off Johnny Cash?"
allll that she wantss, istahavanotha babeeee...

Enough please enough
Please have mercy on us!!!!
this is dreadful. new New Order bad...old New Order good
You know, a little Joy Division never hurt anyone. (Except the lead singer.) Come on RP, let's get on the ball...
I hear the 'reggae beat' you mention, Mafe. Don't listen to him. You are correct! Pyro wrote:

As many great New Order songs as there are, I'm surprised to keep hearing this one multiple times a week.

I had exactly the same feeling.
doesn't do a thing for me. might as well be muzack.
Awesomely generic.
This song keeps growing on me. Just upped it to a 9. Still my favorite band from the 80's.
I really liked this cut and had NO idea that it was New Order until Bill said it on air. Perhaps with it directly following Babble's "Tribe" I wasn't thinking New Order as a follow up. Then again, with former members of Thompson Twins in Babble, I might have seen a segue coming...
I think it sounds pretty good. They are usually pretty recognizable right out of the gate but if I had heard this without looking at the playlist I wouldn't have guessed it as New Order. It's good to do something different.

Pretty good, though not very unique. I have to agree with most of the posts, I expected more from New Order.

I got into the beat. Give them a bit more time—at least they did put out another ablum. If you listen, really closely, you'll hear that true "New Order" sound. It's really nice to still have that around. Thanks for the listen. Later…

I love New Order.. but this song SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear the rhythm track from The Who's "Eminence Front"
Pretty mediocre, for them...

They can do some decent stuff, but when trying to pull off a reggae beat they kinda sound like a fish out of water...

I'm here diggin this track, thinking, "Gee, I should really investigate more New Order." Back in the 80's when they were uber-popular, I wasn't really into the genre... but then I see that this is NEW New Order. Too funny.
A local band for me, always been around, True faith anyone, impromptu first rendition outside the Red Lion in Didsbury. Belting day sunshine wise. Then off to the Bridge Club for a get together and a bit of a jam, even Johnny Marr turned up. Damn I'm getting old if I'm getting nostalgic
Not bad. The groove is there, but I'm missing a good old fashioned New Order melodic hook. (No Peter related hook intended.)
nice!
They still got it: NEW ORDER have been crowned GODLIKE GENIUSES at this year's SHOCKWAVES NME AWARDS. (unlike the NME some would say..) but hey (click here)
I have always loved this band. It helps that I partied with them in Austin in the mid to late 80's.
