Someone told me that Thievery Corporation was too derivative. They're derivative of what? TC is their own unique thing to be absorbed and enjoyed!
A few minutes ago, William played Massive Attack. Now ... this.

Apparently William has designated today to be Trip-hop Tuesday.

I Bet!!
GOOD TUNE!   But not one of their best tunes.  Thanx RP!
These guys are GREAT live; highly recommended if you get a chance...
We sure get lots of "drum machine" stuff on RP.

Yawner!?!?  Trance, bro, and a good one.

For the intro, the bass player has turned up the treble tones and likely turned the bass tones all the way down.  (Like the equalizer for your stereo.)   After that, seems like she/he turned the bass tones up again -- the "sharpness" is not nearly as sharp.   You know, sounds like there's a pillow stuffed into their amplifier speaker.

Very nice groove.

Reality gets dated. Happens all the time
I'm just being spoiled now with a playlist only RP could provide.
Really good sandwiched between blunts...
I hear slot machines throughout this song.
Thanks for this, it keeps me focused.
Yes!!! Sitting with a huge smile on my face- thank you for playing such a diverse mix of music...
made me think of DUB FX...
Solid toe-tapper.  I'll vote 8.
The thievery corporation is stealing my time.
I find this song annoying.

Isn't the band name Thievery Corporation a bit redundant?

This track has grown on me, up to an 8 now. Long Live RP!!

A crazy cow buzz.
I feel like this style of music got a little dated.
A big phat 8 that may go up in time.

I used to love beech trees until I lived behind a row of copper beeches which stole the sun, mossed my lawn, sent suckers up every square foot and rotted my roof. Oh yes, plugged the drains too.
Now I prefer to admire beeches in parks.
God I used to listen to TC all day.. {#Chillpill}
Groooooovy....
i'm there

well said, my friend
got more than a touch of Massive Attack about it, I like it a lot. just hopped on ebay, got the album on it's way. cheers.
{#Sunny}
I like it too
I don't know why I haven't been listening to this a long time ago.

These guys have the whole delay thing DOWN!
This band can take me places within my own mind...intriguing places..
Very nice!

Thievery Corporation is a band with which I run hot and cold - I like this techno-pop song, but I know TC can do better. Still, this has me doing that stupid chair-dance (when you're at a computer and can't just kick it out...) {#Dancingbanana_2}

This music is very entertaining...  miss you so much, Cynaera...

So when you guys saw them the bass guitar wasn't turned up so !@#$ing loud it drowned out everything else?  I mean, I get it, bass is cool, but when Massive Attack took the stage next the levels were PERFECT, so I have a hard time blaming the venue.

Have to confess this is why I carry 2 sets of earplugs to concerts, 1 set is just decibel lightening, the other is bass blocking. The 3rd option is - none.
Air and now TC.  Great - got turned on to these two bands and Zero 7 by the boyfriend of an ex gf's daughter! - I will be forever thankful to you Ben! {#Notworthy}  {#Good-vibes}
I don't know about you but I'm digg'n this!
10. Its a ten. More then nine. Tenity, ten, ten.

I think I have made my point.
10 for cover-art!

Oooohh YES!  I agree whole-heartedly!  I saw them in San Diego (4th & B) a few years back, I think it was July — and the A/C was not working — so damn HOT, probably even more so with all those bodies moving & grooving.  Great, great experience regardless.  {#Jump}

This project always works for solid 7, never more, never less.
Saw them the other night in Vancouver. Tiny crowd, right up front and everything perfect, speaking as a huge fan.  Great songs and perfect sound  - but I felt like I was at a Broadway show with a lack of any spontaneity or passion.  I'm going to reserve judgement and pledge to see them again, perhaps this show came to close to seeing Cake who nailed it
Not all this great guys do is great - here is one example!

Too true...

Got to see the WHOLE band though... the DJ sets are not as spectacular

drews - if I looked that good doing a chair-dance, I'd be making a living at it. Thanks for the laugh, though... {#Roflol}

I just like this one.  Good beat and good vibe, I s'pose.  Kinda spacey. The beat really works.
If I was still doing psychedelics, this would be awesome! But now I rate it just ok. A 5.
You mean chair dancing not like this then?

TC is one contant RP choice that I have struggled to 'get'.  It all sounds a bit cut'n'paste chill morcheebazero7lemonjellyair'sih to me.

Nothing wrong with it, yet too calculated and formulaic chill zone for me.

I picked up on TC a few years back after  "Until the Morning" was used in a Lexus Ad (or was it a Nissan? - that's how memorable..)

No urge to hear any more from them.  Not bad, just not very good.

So .... the name of this is "Feat Ganjan?"  I guess that's appropriate.   (Oh, wait.  My bad.)

I love almost everything these guys have ever recorded.  Thanks, Bill, for this one!

that just mesmerizes me as much without anything else than not heavily smoking indian beedees

This to 60's psych rock the way Austin Powers was to 60's culture - Fake and pointless...

Nice!!

Like this.

Not bad, but far away from their best!

these guys are good, very cool, slick, smart combinations of space and international music. THey offer a nice mixed presentation of cool sounds. COuld be one guy in front of a computer I guess. I like!
Love it!
Thievery is one of my most recent in a long line of discoveries thanks to RP. Thanks again Bil!
Why are Jerry Seinfeld and Tim Robbins on the album cover?
not a single song from Th. Corporation that is from low quality... perfect dub and chillout sounds.
It keeps growing on me as the song progresses
Superb and very imaginative music !! A clear 9.
I was driving the other day and had TC playing and everyone in the car asked me who it was. I was all proud that they didn't know! (Yes, I told them)
