Lookin' back on my life
You know that all I see
Are things I could've changed
I should have done
Where did the good times go?
Good times so hard to hold
This time, this time
This time, I'm gonna find (the light, the light, the light, the light, the light, the light)
Lookin' back on my life
You know that all I see
Are things I could've changed
I could have done
No time for sad lament
A wasted life is bitter spent
So rise into the light
In or out of time
Oh, rise straight to the light
In or out of time (inner light, inner light, inner light)
Through the light, through the light, through the light
Woke up one other day
The pain won't go away
I am growing
In peculiar ways
Into a light I pass
Another dream, another chance
This time, this time
This time, I'm gonna rise into the light
In or out of time (you beside me)
Gonna find my way in life
In or out of time (I'm still seeing things in black and white)
Gonna rise straight into the light
In or out of sight
I'm gonna see the light
I'm gonna see the light
I'm gonna see the light
'Cause I know there is time
There is time, there is time
There is time, there is time
There is time, there is time
There is time, there is time (where did the good times go)
There is time, there is time
There is time, there is time (where did the good times go)
There is time, there is time (oh, for the last time)
This time, this time
This time, this time
This time, this time
This time, this time
This time, this time
Through the light
Through the light, through the light
Through the light, through the light
Through the light, through the light
Through the light, yes
Throught the light, through the light
Throught the light, through the light
Into the light
You know that all I see
Are things I could've changed

One word: Boring (and trite)

Urban Ho Hum.
I have this album, but I had forgotten this song. Not their most memorable and one of the reasons why I can't rate this as a classic album - merely "great in parts".
This Time (we won't sample the Stones and get shafted big-time by their lawyers for all the royalties)
Unless this is a segué into another song, I'm not impressed. Betting they have better stuff, but this is not a good fit for me...

I agree. 'Lucky Man' is simply amazing.

albums are almost as good. They are easily one of the best bands of the last 20 years. The real deal.

I thought this was Boys to Men. wow, pretty trite crap for RP, isn't it?
My RP session ends right here

I had to do a double-take to make sure it wasn't Train. I think the lead singer sounds just like Pat Monahan.
Had to RIP those earphones off'a my head....

i rated this song and the previous (carmen rizzo - overlooked) as 5s, in lieu of any compelling evidence one way or the other. (and because i want my ratings to make a bell curve... sheesh)

I do second this...

but that transition was marvelous, almost like this song reprised that one, or it served as an extended intro for this.

Guess they're not just those Bittersweet Symphony guys. I really like this.

Reminds me, this is another CD lent and not returned. Great grooves on this.

Maroon 5ish?
Um maybe. Everything I've heard from Maroon 5 is straight out of a predictable romantic comedy soundtrack. So was Savage garden, some Wham!, insert sensitive man band here...
I like this better. It would've been better to hear more from these guys than "bittersweet symphony" but here and now is better than never.
Wow...haven't heard this in along time. SOLID album.
How 'bout The Drugs Don't Work next time Bill? Or Even Ben Harpers live version?
Who knew the The Verve could sound so much like Prince!
Just another reason to like 'em, MHO.

yet they came far before maroon 5.
i sent this track in to billg & rebecca years before it made it onto the playlist. hmm.
anyway, love the whole cd, but this was always one of my favs. always thought it was very uplifting.
yeah, richard should go back to the verve...but i doubt that will happen.
Such an amazing album. He needs to go back to these guys, because is solo career is pretty mediocre..
Not doing it for me.....
Love the whole album ... would sit in my room during law school and relax to this album. Brings back good memories.

Nice call. I like this one.
Not every song on the Urban Hymns album has aged well with time, but this one is definitely a keeper.
