If I knew,
being here with you today
would mean being alone tomorrow.
I would gladly trade
all of my tomorrows away
for a moment with you.

Brown Eyed Blues
You can find yourself another fool.
I said hey, hey, heeeey

Can you look
into my eyes
or has your heart gone blind?
said has your heart gone blind?
What can you look
Can you look
into your own
and find the safe place to hide?

Brown Eyed Blue
you can find yourself another fool.
I said hey, hey, heeeey

Why be with a stranger
when you could be
with your friend?
If you're ever lonely
you know I'm lonely too
and I'll stay lonely
Until, I'm again with you

Brown Eyed Blues
You can find yourself another fool

Is that girl on the album cover a customs 'mule' waiting for those "diamonds on the inside" to work their way out the other end?
Wow this is the first bad Ben Harper song I've heard. It's like the theme song for Diff'rent Strokes had sex with Michael Franti's Say Hey and this was born.

I always love it when Bill Goldsmith follows Bob Marley with Ben Harper. These two go so well together!

Yeah, in the dust bin. :)
I bought this album long ago based on hearing this song and I have since been thoroughly disappointed by this artist.

I do love this song though.

Some little tidbits of Billy Preston and Stevie Wonder.

After this....blech.
A duet featuring him and Paulo Nuttini would be fun!

Great song! So many positive comments but it is only rating at 6.6? What's up?

Nothing but fools.  Apparently it is derivative drivel by a singer who brings nothing to the song according to the hoople heads.  I'd agree that Ben is a bit of an acquired taste but I love the guy's music myself.

He needs to do a duet with Stevie Wonderful!
WHO THE HELL IS THE FUNKY BASSIST!!!??
That's funny, I just pulled this CD off the shelf last night so that I can listen to it today. It's been a while.
Fargin' horrible.

Sounds like a cross between Johnny Lang and George Clinton...{#Bananajam}

I so love the album cover.
I always love it when Bill Goldsmith follows Bob Marley with Ben Harper. These two go so well together!

I agree, but then I expect very little from him...
I fully understand what you mean. How can this be the same guy who breathed so much life into Beth Orton's "Stolen Car"? Stuff like that and that one great verse on "Gather Round The Stone" make me keep checking him out, only to find he hasn't hit a home run yet. Plenty of singles and doubles.

He's muttering again
Do my ears deceive me or is Funk being played on RP?
Typical Ben Harper. So close to being good, until he opens his mouth and fails to deliver any energy whatsoever to the song.
This doesn't work for me. I'll hold off on rating it till I'm in a better disposition, because right now my inclination is "derivative drivel."

The cat's got phrasing down. Effortless delivery with just enough edge.
Great song! So many positive comments but it is only rating at 6.6? What's up?

Absolutely agree. Nice title also :) My brown-eyed blue is in Italy on this moment.
I LOVE this guy!! Don't know how I've missed him before - thanks, RP!
Bring back da funk!
Boogie Chile!
funky good... deserves an 7 just for that bass line
two ben harper tunes in less than 4 hrs. wow!
Must keep bootie still...can't do it...ass now shakin'!
This song is great, as is the whole album. Very eclectic talent.
Nice little tune but the whaa-whaa peddle on the guitar doesn't seem very bluesy to me.
Vintage blues and classy modern composition, all in one. Very good song. I need to find out more about Harper and his evident talent.
Love the album cover...very evocative
