Worms don't dance
They haven't got the balls
No matter how do you do it
It's just you do it, that's all
You got what it takes
To knock at my door
You wanna get all excited
Never been here before

And now I'm your apple-eatin' heathen
The original sin
You ain't got my faith
So best keep your belief
I have waited forever to love someone
I swear I heard you thank your God
That time for having me come along
Chickens don't fly
But they have got the wings
No matter how hard they try
They bump into things
They're all running around
Knock their heads on the ground
They got a wish bone
Where their back bone should have grown

Now I'm your apple-eatin' heathen
Any old rib-stealin' Eve
And you ain't got my faith
So best keep your belief
I have waited forever to love someone
I swear I heard you thank your God
That time for having me come along

Another intimacy
Reduced to cruelty
And I had you believe
That this was meant to be
And I'm low for the magic
But you got away with it
That's all

WORST Beth Orton album! Sadly, this is the best song and it lasts a whopping 2min!
I don't see anything special about this song. 2
Not liking this Fiona sound alike-Beth...what are you thinking?
Great song and Kick Ass album cover

if that's the new fiona apple, i understand your daughter's side ... i have been listeing to it nonstop also. sorry. i bought this new beth orton and it's SO SO. i like her old stuff better, but this is still pretty good.
Has Fiona Apple taken on a pseudonym? The vocals and piano and just everything sounds like Fiona Apple. I could give it a higher rating if it sounded more original.
Love this song! Great lyrics - "they got a wishbone where their backbone shoulda grown."

I was just going to say that. (the fiona apple part. I don't have a daughter).

I love the lyrics. Rock on Beth!
Kinda sounds like a B-Side The piano is like just something played until they could figure out how to develop the demo into a fully polished song... I suppose it might grow on me... I've seen her live several times, I'm a huge fan, so have high expectations... Sorry!
Beth has a new CD?? MUST CHECK IT OUT!!! Hopefully it's better than Daybreaker. I just missed this track.
I like the slight divergence from her usual sound. More spunky, which is a good thing so far!
Oooo new Beth!! I knew there was a good reason I liked this station!
finally! been waiting a long time for this new CD! Loving it so far...
