Comparisons, comparisons... what a waste of time  ...I love this song and find it a gesture of respect to Jimi Hendrix. I personally have almost every LP Hendrix released.  I have most of Manx's stuff.  Love it.

PS    It would be great to see a little bit more originality from the critics writing here about this version of a Hendrix tune. First, let's remember, it's a version. It don't take a genius to see that this isn't Jimi.  What mindless idiot would want to duplicate his shit. This is an original interpretation by an original artist. Manx rocks his own boat like nobody else can,  you don't stand a chance trying to size him up to anyone. He's doing all this shit on a banjo! And he does it live like that.  That's a lot of playing and singing he's doing. He's a musical heavyweight.  While you're getting so hung up on the "originality of it all"   why don't you check out how 'unoriginal' your put-downs are. Most of it amounts to one line drivel.  Meaningless to anyone.  Why not display your musical prowess.

Somewhat like trying to paint a mustache on the Mona Lisa. Some things are better left alone.
Nice try, but no cigar.

I disagree with half of this statement. Harry Manx shouldn't cover Hendrix, but that doesn't mean that others can't.
No thanks. Why bother? This song is like a virgin strawberry daiquiri.
Tasteful but boring.
Reminiscent of Jose Feliciano....no? At least the vocal phrasing.

I'm not even a huge Hendrix fan/Harry Manx hater and I think this cover sucks.
This song proves people should not do covers of Hendrix.
