He can't see anyone but her.
She flew away long ago with the band and a model,
Still he thinks he can win back her love.
Too high, you are too blind.
You don't have to hold my hand,
I understand he said then added this thought.
Her life is stormy and fame's left her lonely,
Without me it's all shallow and dark.
Too high,
You are too blind.
Keep that soul alive,
Where there's truth you'll hide.
Too high,
You are too blind.
You are...
You are too blind.
I like the innocent, breathless and dreamy delivery of the singer then the backing kicks in with what could be a heavy backing of guitars but they tone it down or mix it down so that the overwhelming feeling is light. You could flip it the other way around, tone down the dreamy singer and boost the guitars. I would like to hear a heavy version of this - maybe the Foo Fighters would do a cover? Unlikely!
the delivery/vocals are exactly what turns me off. not a fan of that kind of baby voice singing. but, i may agree with you - i might like a heavier version of this. who knows?
RP your the best on the net, I have followed you from all the cities in Europe I have lived even from Russia years ago.
NICE!! I never heard of this band before. Thanx RP! ...What the hell is "Shoegaze"? I never heard of that genre before! ...Must be a Portland, Oregon thing! ...eh?
I really love this... don't blame me. I can't help it.
Just let it out...
Until someone knowledgeable chimes in, I can give you my best guess. Pictures are uploaded chock full of "key words". Songs are uploaded with "key words". Slideshow is a random intersection of those key words. So, my guess, is you got a random selection of RP slides with key words "love" or "blinding" (or both).
I like Madison Violet's album that has "Small Of My Heart"
I thought the phrase was "gloves are all you need", from The Adroit Method Of Handling Dry Ice, by Seamus Stanislovsky. Anyhow, this is quite a cool tune - great wave of sound.
Evil !!!
No, just similar enough.
That sums it up for me. "Bitchin'" also does it.
Love Lush but not quite sure I get the connection...both excellent in my book however.
I'll try to connect the dots.
<<< • They • sound • a • lot • like • Lush • >>>
Reminds me of Lush.

I also wondered if it was Lush. Wow...
Damn! Your right!
Reminds me of Lush.
If I recall correctly, someone once said "Love is all you need". I suspect they were pretty young at the time

according the song this morning
Are you hungry and need a house? Seriously - do you have needs? Love is easy to give if you shelve your own needs in order to help someone that is even more in need than you... But - do you need something? Maybe we can help. Feel free to PM me with what you might need, and I'll do what I can to provide. It's only a bandaid, but if it stops the bleeding until true help can be found, it's better than nothing.
You sound like a very caring person. As a former Chicagoan living in Texas I don't know whether to stick my finger down my throat or write a check.
(This was all in jest, no hate mail please)
I don't hear a sound like that - maybe someone was using a leaf blower across the street - from you.
typical garage rock ambient noises....
I actually checked to find if Lush members are playing in this, but I guess they'll be bringing their kids to school by now :)
To add to this discussion: love is hard to give and to get if you are hungry and don't have a house.

I agree. I wish I'd invested in a lot more music when I had the expendable income to do so, but at the time, my priorities were more "sensible." Given recent events (personal ones as well as the major things happening in the world), I think I need to gobble up all the good music I can get and commit it to memory. There are few things that should matter more than music. (And I suspect that that comment will kick a couple of ant-hills...)

...and then, just to be extra confusing, give the obvious album cover to a completely unrelated band...
OK so Steve Wilson and PT with Silversun and The High Violets - a collaboration would be something . .
Then get Lush back together and throw in My Bloody Valentine...

Silversun Pickups do have a woman - on bass.
Would be interesitng to have The High Violets and Porcupine Tree on a collaborative set . . .
I second that emotion. I really dig the female singer's voice, put some of Steve Wilson's vast sound textures behind it and you'd have some cool stuff.

your sooo right. what is the difference if you sound a little like somebodyelse. pretty hard not to these days.
I'd say they pretty much copied their sound exactly. Good stuff, but I always find it difficult to accept bands who don't try harder to find their own sound.

What if this really is their sound and the fact that their trajectories are shared is itself a coincidence?
Exactly - they've been at it for over ten years.

This is ethereal feminine vocals at its best!
