Vin Scelsa's closing theme song.
(Except RP no longer plays the original version)
Early 90's, 1:08 AM on a hot, muggy August early Monday morning
Sitting on a milkcarton
My baby in a snuggly cause they're cranky
4 floors above 99th St. out on the fire escape
Vin saying good night in the headphones
Don't go Vin
They're not asleep yet
Vin drawing his goodbyes out, like he always did
1:21 AM Vin finally wraps it up
Santo and Johnny,
"There's no place like home",
Flourish, FM radio silence, the silence of the street below me
And my baby asleep on my chest
It’s sad RP plays very little originals and instead opts to play ripoffs. I can see or hear a cover band any day of the week!!
What us this version?? Its not the version on Best of as Displayed…..
Bump
PLEASE PLAY THE BETTER VERSION! Thank You!

This is not the original version and believe me, I remember. I am suruprised that RP would do this. I cannot give this a good score. Please play the original.

Absolutely the best slow dancing song in it's time. As many other posts have pointed out this was the ONE to get real close and I mean REAL close to your dancing partner. Ah the memories,...and as a certified old fart that's about all I have remaining. A 9 pushing for 10 (if I dream a little more).
As another certified old fart I am truly sad this song wasn't getting any airplay in my country during my teenager slow dancing times
This brings back memories from before I had memories.
best description of my feelings for this song!!!
This is a weird version, sounds like it was recorded in a toilet…
Waiting for a flushing sound!!!!!! ...MP3 butchered version!
William. Alanna. Please.
Bring back the original version.
Repetitive and flirting with monotonous. But I’m liking it. Looked at the title. Aha. I’m a Git user. Does that make me a Githead?
Me thinks this comment is for "Drop" by Githead played a few songs prior.
The original had a great 2nd guitar part and a less crappy bass
Agreed. What happened RP? Please bring back the original.

These kind of songs made me wonder as a kid if reincarnation did exist. So many ancient songs that feel you knew already.

Make that a certified old flatus.
Can't hear this song and not think of that scene....powerful...
Real-touch-the-woman type of dancing...
These guys are very good... Very smooth...
Thank You
I second that!

don't be surprised when you find the door locked, or even better stay gone till you grow a brain.....
(sorry always reminds me of the end of La Bomba)
can't be a bad thing......
no s^&t i'm 66 and remember when it was a hit in la la land.....one of the only non country steel guitar riffs ever made......

I like though :) it still sounds cool
I've known this tune since I was a little kid; I don't really associate it with any movies or TV shows, but it guess it has been in many of them over the years.
Perfect description. Now all I need is a rope hammock and a tropical drink - and a gorgeous sunset over the ocean...
This song is too short, it really needs to be played twice.
Go Hawaiian, my friend. This is a perfect tropical sleepy love song.

When I was institutionalized, my brain was studied exhaustively in the guise of mental health. I was interrogated, I was x-rayed, I was examined *thoroughly*.
**cough**
Then, they took everything about me and put it into a computer where they created this model of my mind.
Yes!
Using that model they managed to generate every thought I could possibly have in the next, say, 10 years. Which they then filtered through a probability matrix of some kind to - to determine everything I was gonna do in that period. So you see, she knew I was gonna lead the Army of the Twelve Monkeys into the pages of history before it ever even occurred to me. She knows everything I'm ever gonna do before I know it myself. How's that?
Well, it IS summer here in Oklahoma at 110 degrees today. sheeesh

Could it be the very groove? So mellow, so slow, so conducive to creativity.... Yum. Short, sweet, and sexy.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Perfect...Cynaera.

A highly-recommended movie, indeed!
You get visions of Don "Bubbles" Ho and I get visions of George Hamilton and Delores Hart in "Where the Boys Are". I saw Don Ho in Hawaii about 30 years ago. He was "in his cups" and the bubbles flowed.
