Wanna tell you about the girl I love
My she looks so fine
She's the only one that I been dreamin' of
Maybe someday she will be all mine
I wanna tell her that I love her so
I thrill with her every touch
I need to tell her she's the only one I really love

I got a woman, wanna ball all day
I got a woman, she won't be true, no
I got a woman, stay drunk all the time
I said I got a little woman and she won't be true

Sunday morning when we go down to church
See the menfolk standin' in line
They say they come to pray to the Lord
When my little girl, looks so fine
In the evening when the sun is sinkin' low
Everybody's with the one they love
I walk the town, Keep a-searchin' all around
Lookin' for my street corner girl

I got a woman, wanna ball all day
I got a woman, she won't be true, no no
I got a woman, stay drunk all the time
I said I got a little woman and she won't be true

In the bars, with the men who play guitars
Singin', drinkin' and rememberin' the times
My little lover does the midnight shift
She balls around all the time
I guess there's just one thing a-left for me to do
So I pack my bags and move on my way
Cause I got a worried mind
Sharin' what I thought was mine
Gonna leave her where the guitars play

I got a woman, she won't be true, no no
I got a woman, wanna ball all day
I got a woman, stay drunk all the time
I got a little woman and she won't be true

(Hey hey what can I do)

I said she won't be true

(Hey Hey, What can I say?)

Hey hey, what can I do
I got a woman, she won't be true
Lord, hear what I say
I got a woman, wanna bawl all day

What Hannio said was "this is the only Zep song that was ever released as only a single."

'Trampled Underfoot' was included on Physical Graffiti: 'Hey Hey What Can I Do' wasn't included on a Led Zeppelin album until Coda.

Not to get too nit-picky, but 'Hey Hey What Can I Do' wasn't even on Coda back when Coda was only available as an "LP" or a tape or even on CD... The first release I remember (besides the B-side vinyl single) was back in the late 80's or early 90's on (the first?) "best of LZ" CD compilation (the one with the crop circles on the front). It's now available on any number of LZ compilation CDs as well as streaming through the Coda "deluxe" edition.

I only note this because, as a young teen in the early 80s, I owned Coda on vinyl (I still have it) and this ain't on it. As a kid, the only way I knew of to get a copy of this song was to call the local rock station, request it, then wait and hope they'd play it so I could hold my cheap tape-recorder as close to my poorly tuned clock-radio and, hopefully hit 'record' at just the right moment... I carried a very sad recording around on a cassette well into college when I finally bought the single vinyl (thus completing my LZ vinyl collection, which I still have).

One of these days remind me to tell you how "Travelling Riverside Blues" was the Holy Grail of studio-recorded-but-never-released LZ songs in back in 1984... Never did get a decent recording of that one until it was released on a compilation...

Still have the 45 with Immigrant Song on the A side.
Just kept flipping, and flipping.....
This is what you get for cavorting with...

I was wondering about when/where this song was located in LZ's albums--you used the hear it all the time back in the day.
Can't believe I owned the boxed set and never listened to this song! 8!
Very nice!

...what's that cover art from?..it looks like some manner of boxed set, not led zeppelin II in particular...

Per Wikipedia: "The album cover depicts the inside structure of a Zeppelin."

Not correct - Trampled Underfoot was definitely released as a single in the UK.

Not correct - Trampled Underfoot was definitely released as a single in the UK. I have a copy in my hands right now. It was released on Swan Song records b/w Black Country Woman. Interestingly there is no catalogue number on it. It has a black sleeve with the text Led Zeppelin "Trampled Underfoot" at the top and the text Special Limited Edition at the bottom right at a 45 degree angle.

Sigh. . . I 'lost' an unplayed copy of the Trampled Underfoot single in a divorce by mistake. I bought two copies at the time it was released - one for playing ( I was a dj) and one for investment as I just KNEW it would be valuable one day.

Bugger.

Complete, as of 1970?  But it doesn't sound right to me, either.  Must be the release date of this song.

Okay, wikipedia says this song was the b-side of Immigrant Song, released as a single in 1970.  Incidentally, this is the only Zep song that was ever released as only a single.

I actually still have my original 45 from when it was released!
The first time I saw this on a CD was on the 4 disk box set that was released around 1990 or so.

One of my favorites to sing along with, which never fails to make me laugh.
A classic Zep tune.{#Jump}

Just a great tune from Led Zepplin, especially for a late Saturday evening. Even though it's played often on certain commercial radio stations, I never get tired of hearing it. Nice selection RP!
