One of the greatest benefits of music, in my humble opinion, is how it can tug at different parts of your inner self, be it joyful, or mournful.  And it can be very, very personal.  This song made me close my eyes, and just get lost in the voice and the lyrics.
When the song was over I decided to read some of the listener responses.  Wow!  Apparently some folks hated it as much as I loved it.  Well, I guess that's Music Appreciation 101.

I have a couple of her albums on which her voice is at least reasonable, at times a bit contrived sounding, but nothing as, honestly, annoying as this.

Just because Lucinda doesn't have the greatest voice, does not mean she is not a great singer. I think this is true for many great singers, for instance Levon Helm and Rick Danko of The Band.

Yeah, I agree. I like the music in this, especially the guitar, and would probably like the song if someone else was singing it, but I just can't get passed Lucinda's voice. Sounds like most of the people I've heard trying to sing karaoke after about five too many. Some people hear it as sultry...to me, it's just sloppy. But, hey, to each his own...obviously, someone likes it, with a ranking of 6.2.

Tears of joy again,  A great song, wish I could figure out who did the guitar.  but in a brilliant segue, they played Angus and Julia Stone, who I have never heard, but who clearly seem influenced by Lucinda.
