Our haven on the southern point is calling us
Our haven on the southern point is calling us
And faced with all the obvious, she'll carry us
Avert your eyes from all of this, we'll make it all back

In the end, you'll never find
You'll never find me now
But I'll return to you
When you return to me

In the end, you'll never find
You'll never find me now
But I'll return to you
When you return to me

In regards to the last word
It's not the last you'll hear
I'd never find any other
I could ever, I could ever

Never say it's the last one
It's not the last one
I'd never find any other
I could ever, I could ever

Wonderful relief from the interminable 12 bar before.
I prefer bears with far more grizzle and bite than this. The name promises more than the band delivers.
I like this band.  I've seen them play live twice, within a fairly short span of time.  One show was mellower but still intense.  The other show rocked intensely.  Their recorded music keeps me interested too.
Well, that wasn't what I was expecting.  Interesting.  Very interesting.  Worth an 8 ... reminds me a bit of The Dear Hunter (in my view one of the greatest bands of the last ten years).
Great unique band!

Just as exciting as when it came out
I like this song.  A lot.

Strangeness and charm are flavors of quarks...

Why doesn't it surprise me that you see the ninnies and their ninny ways? Oh how I'd love to see one of them on open mic night... but they don't have the chutzpah!

I would agree with this sentiment.  I'm not sure whether it's clever or just not good.

Indeed. I also heard some 70's YES ....

Commendable attempt to create a samba smoothie with spanish tinges a la Caetano Veloso {#Devil_pimp}
Wow....interesting, unconventional, cool.

Spot on.

This is growing on me. Bumped from a 6 to a 7.
Jeez, that was awful.
Radiohead fans will probably love it.
;-)

A most unusual song.  Made me stop what I was doing and see who it was.  Sounds a lot different than Two Weeks, that's for sure!

You guys are so funny. You just made my day.
BTW: this music is strange... but I am not saying it is bad.

@stino just realized I quoted you twice in less than 15 minutes - coincidences always amaze me. Schoenen Wünsche aus China

Dynamite description - well done! {#High-five} I might add a pinch of America (the acoustic guitar).

Yeah - that's my vote as well. America turned out some schlock in their time but each album tended to have at least one song like this.

Better with every listen. Now up to 8!
Still a 1. A tedious one.

This is an intriguing album that's growing on me.  Worth consideration to be sure.

Its from an excellent CD.
Heard the other one yesterday, not so impressed with this track but another listen of them all?

High praise sir, yes they are wonderful. {#Wink}

Had to see who was so incredibly annoying.

Yes, indeed. Interesting, though. Not quite ready to add to my top 960 on the Touch, however.

It sounds like Donald Fagen after loosing his mind... and some of his talent as well.

Surprisingly engaging.
almost as annoying as classic Genesis{#Puke}
This caught my attention without knowing who they are...apparently the next big thing!

Quoting Nilsson, a point in every direction is no point at all.  These 'envelope pushing' bands all push in the same direction, and all sound the same at the end of the day.  Quite the dichotomy, eh?  How about some real evolution and creativity for once?

That's a good quote, I like it. I think you are generalizing a bit, but maybe I was as well. However, you bring up a good point, how far does a band or an artist go to satisfy their creative impulses? If they push things too far, they risk pushing people away. At the end of the day they still have to sell songs and put bums in seats. Case in point - John Zorn - He has definitely 'pushed the envelope' with his avant-garde music (he even had an avant-garde rock band for a while) and has often received critical praise, but how many people actually get what he's doing (I don't) and buy his albums? If you are a skilled and creative musician this must be a fine line to walk. As far as Grizzly Bear goes, I think they show fine form as tightrope walkers.

Sometimes my fingers tap the keys while my brain is away on different business, nice to see that happens to others as well. Ho Hum...this? So, are you saying that you want all bands to sound the same? I'd rather bands push the envelope and try for something different than follow the same old template.

My new favorite band!

Thanks! I actually didn't know, and it made me go look them up on wikipedia and youtube to learn a little more. I'm definitely digging some Grizzly.

These guys sure don't go for simple arrangments.

Not really doing anything for me, but not completely horrible either.  I'll give it a 4 until I can think of a reason to change it.

This guy gets hyped out the wazoo on Sirius XMU. I've been pretty meh on most of the songs they play there (except for "Cheerleader," which is fairly decent), but I'm really digging this tune for whatever reason. It sits well with me. First reaction is a 6.5, but I can't give a 6.5 so I'll rank it down until I hear it again.

I have a feeling that I will love this after a few listens.
