Something 'bout the way he touched me
Was so slow
The way he'd put his arms around me
Even though

I'm feeling lonely
I'm feeling lonely

Don't understand the words he said
Made me do wrong
But now there's nothing else in my head
And though it's strong
I wish he'd leave me alone
I wish he'd leave me

Cuz I know
Trouble will follow
But I have to go
I have to go

Cuz I know
Trouble will follow
But I have to go
I have to go

It makes me think that I don't know me
So unsure
When I remember all the things he showed me
And I want more
I'm feeling lonely
Oh I'm feeling lonely

Just like documents with (almost) blank pages that state "this page left blank intentionally"
I don't know what the rest of you hear, but to me, her voice just oozes sexuality...my goodness, the thoughts...

OK, that's a little creepy.

The best outdoor venue I've ever been to... a beautiful place. I like get tickets near the stage but take a picnic and eat on the lawn before the show starts. Sometimes the acoustics are good enough you can make out the lyrics from the parking lot.

Anyone who would be a guest on an Elvis Costello show has to have a lot going for them, musically. He is very tuned in to musical talent.

This song has a 'light rock' feel, but her work is pretty diverse. She's been in a number of bands with widely disparate styles.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that she's Ravi Shankar's daughter...

My $.02. She's very talented. Great arrangements for those not too keen on high energy tunes.  Not my cuppa. After a few listens, not a lot of there there.
I am not sure what it is but I've just never liked Norah Jones.  Just seems so fake and produced. Instant elevator music.

It's an emphatic lack of comment.

Wow!  Another album new to me!  You go, Bill!
Great Song!

Listen to her latest iteration.

Do tell.
It's interesting. If I divorce myself from my preconceived notion of Norah Jones, this is a really nice, kinda sexy song (at least in terms of how it sounds — I haven't actually listened to the words yet). Hearing her voice and recognizing who it is, though, brings me right back to the sort of relaxed, wise, slightly melancholy image I have of her from songs like "Come Away With Me".

yup - and she can do it, too. Her vocal on Anoushka Shankar & Karsh Kale's "Easy" is excellent - she doesn't exactly giv'r, but she's certainly much more engaged.

For a hippie chick, you sure got a tough attitude.

That It!  that's what is missing from this release.  I don't particularely like the production and overall music on this album - I had much higher expectations.  Nora's singing is OK, and on her previous releases the music could carry it and make a complete package.  In this case there are elements missing IMO.  It's OK, just not great.
My inital response to this was, "Oh BABY!  Who is THAT?"  When I realized it was Ms. Jones, my response turned to, "Well, of course that gorgeous voice belongs to her."

(PS: I am not — in any way — the reason for hippiechick's opinion.)
Is that Kujo laying by her in the album cover?

Wow, thanks for sharing.  You can probably get help for that!

Not much Norah can do wrong.
Opening drum fill sounds like Ringo's fill to start "Savoy Truffle."
even the music is sleepy and boring.

Well, this is right off the top of my head, but let's say:
$10 to ignore a post with inaccurate statements of fact about the song (add $5 if it's a song I like)
$20 to ignore a post requesting/demanding RP to stop playing a particular song/band/genre (add $10 if it's a song/band/genre I like)
$50 to ignore a post containing name-calling or politically correct influences ($40 if containing both)

Items can be purchased a la carte or in discounted packages.  Plus, if you act now each comment you post will get a complimentary response from me for free!  Act now, operators are standing by!

I agree. I thought this was an obscure slow song from the Cardigans. I had given up on Norah, but glad this got my attention.

This the most interesting post I've read on RP to date.  Good luck with your quest.

So not into Norah. Pleasant though...Even though!

This woman can sing!

I was about to say that. I like Norah Jones, but one of her songs a day is enough.

Another song from this album played 5 hours ago.

I do like some Norah, but everything Bill's playing from this album is too poppy for my taste.

Nice dog.

Very talented but so over played...{#Rolleyes}

Not knocking Norah Jones, she's very talented but I have heard enough of her. Classic over exposure.
Agreed. Well performed, but lacks the unquantifiable  groove of a classic cut. Not why I listen to RP.

now, if I don't hear it so much I get nauseous at the opening notes - like I did with her first album - it'll be alright.

Likewise.

Not sure if anyone caught her on Prairie Home Companion, an excellent radio show heard in the U.S. on NPR the week before Christmas.  Outstanding performances and, in my opinion, greatly upstaged another favorite of mine: Madeleine Peyroux.  You can check it out at prairiehome.publicradio.org  (after you've had your fill of RP, of course!)
nice.

Very nice song
I like the guitar, and voice...
{#Tongue}  More Norah PLEASE!!  I just love her silky, sultry, sexy vocals - I could never get tired of listening to her.
this sounds very similar to the other song of hers I hear here alot.

I kinda feel like the stuff that got all the airplay is, oddly, her weakest material. So many of the cuts that Bill finds (both older and newer) are simply inspired!

I humbly submit that Ms. Jones is an extremely talented musician ... I just feel her interpretations lack emotion and passion ... maybe my perception is based on the fact that her voice *elicits* that of Billy Holiday ... {#Ask}

I thought it was Garbage (the band). Nice departure from her usual stuff (which is not too interesting as a whole). This is good. Might actually buy this album. Um, probably not.

I downloaded a bunch of tunes from this album today, including this one.  Superb record.

Like her or not, Norah is a huge talent.

Who would have thought that Norah Jones would hit one out of the park? I thought her career was headed for MOR snoozeville. But, low and behold, she puts out this terrific album. The recording is produced by Jacquire King. Hats off to Norah and to King for making a record with just the right balance of smooth pop and indie edge.

Hooray! More Norah Jones to enjoy!
This has been in constant rotation in my car lately.  What a great new approach for her.  Her voice goes so well with the more 'electric' songs.
Her sophomore efforts suffered something of a slump - but I like this a bit more each time I listen to it.
