Three, four!

Everybody's talking and no one says a word
Everybody's making love and no one really cares
There's Nazis in the bathroom just below the stairs

Always something happening and nothing going on
There's always something cooking and nothing in the pot
They're starving back in China so finish what you got

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- strange days indeed

Everybody's runnin' and no one makes a move
Everyone's a winner and nothing left to lose
There's a little yellow idol to the north of Katmandu

Everybody's flying and no one leaves the ground
Everybody's crying and no one makes a sound
There's a place for us in the movies you just gotta lay around

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama

Everybody's smoking and no one's getting high
Everybody's flying and never touch the sky
There's a UFO over New York and I ain't too surprised

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama, roll!

This too me is a great example of where Lennon may have taken his song writing if he hadn't been killed. More upbeat than his 73-75 period, interesting lyrically and musically. I believe he wrote it for Ringo.  Good stuff.
John for ever {#Clap}

Everybody in my hotel room loves this song so very much...  we all wish you were still with us, Cynaera...  we love you and miss you...

Ann Lucas passed away February 6, 2012, at University of Utah Medical Center, at age 55 due to a subdural hematoma, which required surgery. She was put on life support, but after three days without signs of improvement, her family made the difficult decision to discontinue life support and donate her organs on the 6th.

Ann was born on Oct. 12, 1956, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Buss and Dorothy Stepp, who encouraged her to follow her dreams. One dream was to become a published author, which she achieved in 2010 with her novel "Life-Dance". She also wrote fan fiction for the television show "La Femme Nikita".

Ann was also a freelance correspondent for the "Elko Independent" newspaper and had a recurring column called "Shaking the Tree", as well as writing articles for "Elko Daily Free Press".

Yeah, really...

Wonder what The Walrus would say about the Orwellian clusterfuck we're in these days, were he here to see it?

I thought the same thing when I heard this song on the radio the other day.

Obviously a trend here. You seem to think anyone gives a crap what you rate songs. If we're interested we'll look up what you gave it. But we really do not care. Clip and pasting your comment is boring.

Who is this "we" you speak of? I have no problem with Tomasni's comment. Not sure why you find it necessary to be a dick.

Remember  : "Imagine", "Jalous Guy", "Working class hero" "Mother", "Instant karma"... and many others... and who can say "I wrote a great Christmas song" except him?
John was really great in solo during the first years, in the late 70's he lost inspiration; as many others, i'm sure if he would have been living, he would have recorded many other good song, it's so sad.
Thanks John

You are only proving my point. I would label each of those songs as boring sappy shite that would never have seen the light of day if they had not had the, " Lennon," tag.

Well, " Instant Karma," is not terrible, I guess.
This is timely.
John will always be my favorite Beatle. That being said, a lot of his solo stuff is not great. I think Yoko inspired him to be more experimental which is a double edged sword musically.

Just to clarify that- I LOVE John. Don't dogpile me for saying one small negative thing about him. I know he is revered like some kind of Saint, but that song is the musical equivalent of doing laundry.

Don't you dare comparing them together. :-0 However "hipster" Lennon was, Bono is an awful little man, cannot even kiss his boots.

John Lennon H8rs?!?  Sometimes you just have to shake your head ruefully.
"They're starving back in China so finish what you got". Changed days indeed.

Maybe because he cheated on his wife and left her and his 5 year old kid in the cold? I know it's "normal" now, but maybe in those days people weren't quite ready for it yet.

Yeah, nobody cheated on their spouse or s.o. in the 60s-70s.

What planet did you say you were from again?
fabulous song.

You might want to dig a little deeper into the complex history of their relationship before judging...

What does his personal life have to do with anyone else other than him and his family? Endless couples split up - people butcher each other and more and more - but, if you are well known, you have to be holier than thou?

You know, he really loved Yoko.  It was obvious then, and it's still apparent.  Why did everybody had to give him so much shit about it?

I agree. I think good old-fashioned racism was a part of it.

{#Group-hug}One can't help but admire the lyrics of a true songwriter....and to this day ' Strange Days Indeed!'
wow so right on syncronistic!!!!....VERY STRANGE DAYS INDEED!
I should be so lucky.  {#Hearteyes}
In my Lennon's-top-three. Thanks, John for this one.

Everybody in my church loves this song!!!!

John was often at his best when channeling some of the stylistic influences of his youth - this could have been a big hit in the early "60s.
One of the best songs from a very spotty solo career.  Oh John, why did you have to hook up with that daughter-of-a-Japanese-industrialist artist wannabe?  It's 1968, the "Let It Be" movie is released and playing at the Montrose Theater in Houston.  Yoko comes on screen for the first time to boo's throughout the house.  A few years later a billionaire writes "Imagine no possessions."  How fatuous is that?
I remember seeing the video for this song sometime in the early 80's. The picture of John and Yoko on the boat stuck in my head for many years up to the point I could not remember if it was actually part of the video or just my imagination. Thanks to YouTube this mystery could be solved.
How about more Lennon in the rotation, Bill?
yet another song that turned out to be endlessly ironic....

How can I NOT have rated this? {#Stupid}

Always liked this song. It was bittersweet though, as he had died so recently when it was released.
