LOVE that clarinet solo!

You may enjoy Jean-Philippe Goude early stuff though. Tell me here if you did.
I have never heard this before, and its remarkable.
She's beautiful!
Love her or hate her, you can't say enough about Tori's piano playing. She's got the chops!
that music looks strangly same song from thr group named Harmonium
If you love this, please yourself and go listen to Jean-Philippe GoudeĀ“s "Ainsi de nous" album. You may really enjoy it. I promise.

I love her but I laughed hard
Beautiful piece, easy 9 from this sister's little brother, take it easy
outstanding
LOVE that clarinet solo!
Comforting to read that I'm not alone hearing Harmonium.... Even if it's just a short movement.
Whoa I just liked a Tori Amos song!
Apparently I dislike clarinets less than I used to - I bumped my rating up from 2 to 3.

(But I still hit the 'play something else' button).

Or Jean-Philippe Goude and his "Ainsi de nous" album. You should listen to it, you, cool Bud.
It could be Genesis in the early days, but it has also a SAGA sound

Couldn't wait for this to stop.
ADHD Clarinet.  In my face.

I'd buy any album that sounded like this, regardless of who recorded it. Now, if she started singing...not so much. Easily my highest rated Tori Amos song.
This song always brings me in mind of the kids TV show "Ivor the engine" {#Smile}

That be no oboe

(Edit: as pointed out below)

Nah, there were dozens of rock and pop songs with those instruments before this one.  Songs by The Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, King Crimson, ELO, Roxy Music, etc...
First rock song ever with only oboe and piano.
Harmonium!? You rock! I teach French and we talk about them.

And those of us who are Tori fans will think that this is awesome too. Yes, she can grate after a bit. Yes, hasn't done a really good album since maybe Scarlet's Walk. But still with the talent and the soul and the strange, pixie poet woman lyrics and the piano oh that piano. So you know, she's aw'right.

Why hadn't Dalkey disposed of the bodies as instructed? Why did he keep buying this rubbishy tea? And why wouldn't the courts let him legally change his awful name?

Meanwhile, with a certain wave of her trowel, the elderly matron signaled to her youthful accomplice to get a move on. And so he did, with stealthy step and acquisitive intent, up the winding stair...
{#Hearteyes}
Such a relief to ot deal with the voice.
Oldsaxon + holasoyjoe -> thank you for the correction :)
This tune is a great segueway into almost anything.

Well I was trying to be somewhat subtle, but...yeah.  I definitely respect her talent and ability, just not really pleasing to me.  This track, on the other hand, is a masterpiece.

Actually, really nice piano, and if she wrote that then a star to her, just wish all her work was instrumental..

I believe the woodwind instrument is a clarinet.

So René Aubry-esque... and so Jean-Philippe Goudesque.
Very nice, anyway.
Sounds like Camel. Very nice!
at least she's not singing...
WOW, Tori can whistle like a flute! {#Clap}
Lovely new theme for Antiques Roadshow.  Or Marple, or something else. Perhaps Noggin the Nog.

Exactly.  Never thought I'd give Tori an 8, either!

Yes, it reminds me Harmonium, 5 seasons, a Quebec province band, home town...
Glass + Bach. Not bad.

Actually, that's pretty cool. It's a very playful work. Reminds me a small, fast-running brook. I'll have to check this album out.

Ah, that explains why I like this more and more.  Bach realigns my brain.  That, and being a former classical clarinet major.

That's Numberwang!

If its possible to dislike someone as sexy and talented as Tori then someone forgot to show me how
Why does this Tori Amos track get played so much more than anything else of hers??  I'm starting to see the same loops of music happening more often.

Not a huge fan of her vocals, but nothing to object to in this performance.

If the "King of Sappiness" you are referring to has the initials "K.G.", then the clarinet is relatively safe.  He primarily plays a soprano saxophone.

This so reminds me of Harmonium. Does anyone else hear that, or for that matter, know their music. I'd be going back to the late 70's for that, I guess. They were a great band to see live!

Not a big Tori fan, but the tonality and technique of the clarinet player are quite good.  And the piece keeps growing on me.

If I was a Tori fan, or even a clarinet fan, I might like this more.  As it is, I don't mind listening to it now, but I know that I'll get sick of it really quickly.
