Lyrics:

Shadows are falling and I've been here all day
It's too hot to sleep time is running away
Feel like my soul has turned into steel
I've still got the scars that the sun didn't heal
There's not even room enough to be anywhere
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

Well my sense of humanity has gone down the drain
Behind every beautiful thing there's been some kind of pain
She wrote me a letter and she wrote it so kind
She put down in writing what was in her mind
I just don't see why I should even care
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

Well, I've been to London and I've been to gay Paris
I've followed the river and I got to the sea
I've been down on the bottom of a world full of lies
I ain't looking for nothing in anyone's eyes
Sometimes my burden seems more than I can bear
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

I was born here and I'll die here against my will
I know it looks like I'm moving, but I'm standing still
Every nerve in my body is so vacant and numb
I can't even remember what it was I came here to get away from
Don't even hear a murmur of a prayer
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there
Dylan is good... but I like the chiming guitars on this.
This goes to show that a band can ruin a good song. And I thought that Dylan has a bad voice. Ouch.
WOW !
Really like this band, but the original is just so much better. 5.

This cover has got some feeling to it, but every time I hear it, I wish I were listening to Bob Dylan instead...

I'm with you on that one.
Dylan cover usually followed by a real Dylan song...this time we got Portishead.
Oh, Hey! Dr. Bob Who!
I think it's a well produced song. Love the guitar harmonics and effects.
Its not done yet, but thankfully getting there…
Oh man, I love this song.  Not sure I want to hear this Smashing Pumpkins tribute band do it...but such a good song.
OH please... I LOVE the original.... please don't do this to me... I didn't do anything wrong..... today, yet

My enthusiasm for SP has waned but otherwise I agree with your polite assessment.
Karaoke?
Bad Steve Earl girly-sounding vocals. Or a goat.
This is poop  X 10...... which means its 100% poop.
hmhmhm.... okay, it´s not really BAD. but the original is sooo much better :-(
Robyn Hitchcock did a REALLY wonderful cover of NDY, would be wonderful to hear this one here, sometimes!
I love this song, I love this band, I've thought about covering this song too, but I think it's best left for Bob
Awful song. I hope my ears will stop hurting soon.

Tongue Out
Right on!
Impersonating the Pumpkins covering Dylan

Someone please wake me up when this is over.

Any cover of Bob Dylan is better than the original.
This band is really growing on me and it's great to hear a cover of this tune.
One of my favorite Dylan songs, and since I like SP, I can't complain about this cover.  In fact, I really like it.

I just pretend he's a girl and then I like the voice.
I prefer Bob's version. I know a lot of RPers just hate his voice, but it works for me on thisong.
At least you're first in line here.........you win the consolation prize.
Rats!
I was going to upload this and I couldn't because of the no empty slots syndrome.

Curse you ten song limit.
