As I lay my head down
upon that grassy field
winter's passing
Snowfall.
no one will ever know.
yeah, yeah, yes, oh yeah
As I lay my head down
upon that grassy field
you won't find me
I'm alone.
No one will ever know.
oh, look at the years going by.
no, troubles come into your life.
oh, now that you finally have found the end.
the end.
the end is holy.

An interesting first comment, posted 10 years ago.

Agreed. Several of the tracks on this effort are simply fantastic...
I find it odd that despite the lyrics, this song makes me happy to be alive.  Wait, it may actually be because of the lyrics
Cool tune :)

That was very good! not all songs can pull off that vibe. Not to take away from Tamer...My favorite is Brokedown  Palace by the GD.  maybe with Marsalis... Loved Patty Griffin's  Long Ride Home Also.  Lost way too many friends and loved ones.. Time and Music heal... Peace... Love...Be Safe

Yes, that's VERY good.
This song is so sad. Still I like it very much.
Conjures up the Moody Blues. And that's good.
Boring
This album is very atmospheric...
Growing.....

So what is this about a new Other Lives album coming out?

Negative, Gregorian chants meet the Moody Blues, this would be the creation.

They have a new one due out in May, can't wait to hear it!

I agree. It seeps in and never leaves. Just bought tickets to see them in NYC in May. Hope they are as good in concert!

I'm pretty sure that the lyrics are referring to a death (suicide, most likely) in a faraway deserted place.

I took away from it that we live our lives and die and people forget we even existed.  A lament about our ultimate insignificance if you will.
Nice song. And I upped my rating +1 thanks to the awesome cover.

"My Guitar Gently Weeps" accompanies in the background as I listen...

Well said...

I can't please everybody, and I am not interested in trying...  anybody who reviews my song comments will see that many of my comments are responses to people who have made happy affirmations to me...  I get tons of compliments and positive responses from very many marvelous people...

I honestly think I'm going to stop reading song comments because I become enraged to see the moron 'Lazarus' back on the site. Seriously. Such a waste of space.

An exacting synopsis. I agree on all counts. This is going on the wish list...

The album (and the previous one as well) is beautiful. One of the best "hidden gems" bands around.
Watch the live concert from Paris... amazing!
the song and whole lp is great but live show was a little bit disappointing for me
this is beautiful——I don't know why, but I think of the Electric Prunes doing "Kyrie Ellison" cuz it sounds so stately, yet psychedelic.
This song is growing every time it plays!
I bought this disc a couple of months ago - really good overall.  If you like this vibe you'll love the disc.
Stumbled upon them a year ago, maybe, on KCRW's MBE. Drawn to them ever since.
Growing on me 8->9
GOOD
They recently opened for Radiohead here in Santa Barbara.

Had never heard of this band until they opened for Radiohead a few months ago. This is an excellent album, I've probably listened to it more than anything else this year. Their first one is good too, but this one's better I think.

Strangely hypnotic, which draws me in and makes me listen.

I don't like! I've just heard this song three or four times, but I have not a good feeling about her
The Moody Blues meets Tomorrow Never Knows by way of Arcade Fire and a flamenco rhythm track ??
Funny the hybrids.

I like this - make me think of John Lennon in his afterlife.
The more I hear of 'Other Lives'...the more I enjoy! Laughing
On first listen, reminds me a bit of Republic Tigers. Looking forward to more.
Sounds interesting from the start.  I guess we'll see how it builds.
