When you last left me my blood was in a jar
And you kept it on your mantelpiece
I couldn't count on anyone to stand there behind me
And keep the dogs from dragging me off with them
While I slept you crept in and pulled the rug right out from under me
[?] you stole away and took the parts that kept me functioning

My heart will be blacker than your eyes when I'm through with you

And I said, this life ain't no love song while I marched on blindly
And my knuckles dragged across the walls
And the birds up there mock me and the scenery's turned wicked
And your name is trapped beneath my tongue

All of the roads are one now, each choice is the same
All the roads, they are one now, each choice is the same
I won't show my hands now, I know this ain't a game
All the roads, they are one now, each choice is...

Take a step, take another step, take another step, not a care for where they fall
You burned me, yeah you've burned me, yeah you've burned me now one too many times
My thoughts are the cold kind, I've got storm clouds that are brewing behind my eyes

And my heart will be blacker than your eyes when I'm through with you

meh
Has sort of an Elliott Smith sound, which isn't a good thing to me

very appropriate name there, old fart.  don't worry, we don't wanna be on your lawn anyway.  we'll just be groovin' over here.......

Twice, or two occurrences/hits/positives but surely not "two times"... {#Jump}
"Ctrl + F - search comments for "Mumford". Mumford found two times. Oh well, no point remarking that it reminded me of Mumford & Sons ...
there is something tonal so reminiscent of the late dave carter
I like the beat and feel of the song, but I'm imagining my own happy lyrics to it instead
These guys need to branch out a bit with their style.
My heart will be blacker than ... I hope he feels better soon?

You have my deepest sympathy.

It's likely that about 80% of modern, popular music is written in 4/4 time, so you're still pretty safe.  However, this is quite a clunky waltz - a little heavy-handed on the percussion.

Point guard maybe

Just saw these guys (ie Ben Cooper & band) in concert earlier tonight; great show.
This song was the highlight of the show, IMO.
OK, too much me on this thread.

I happened to be running on my treadmill when this tune came on.  It's beat set the perfect pace.  For that the artists get a one-star boost.  Now if only the song were long enough to get me through my entire run... {#Dance}

Doesn't that feel good?!!  I have several songs that have that same perfect, driving beat -- perfectly synchronized to my pace.
miserable lyrics boreing tune..{#Yawn}
I'm starting to really like these guys.

Hmmm, I guess that's one interpretation (ie that the narrator is seeking vengeance on his girlfriend's lover). I like that the lyrics are seemingly very specific but in fact are completely open to interpretation. Just like a good horror movie, what's left to the imagination is often much scarier and more effective than mindless gore.

No, no...I was trying to be funny. The guy is ranting on and on about horrible vengeance against someone and I wondered what it'd be like to let him get it all out and then say "Hey, I screwed your girlfriend!"

Sorry. Insomnia. I get giggly late at night.

Wow, I'm really liking this. Avett/Mumford meet Violent Femmes?
The lyrics (and music) caught my attention . . . pretty dark, but good:

When you last left me my blood was in a jar
And you kept it on your mantelpiece
I couldn’t count on anyone to stand there behind me
And keep the dogs from dragging me off with them
While I slept you crept in and pulled the rug right out from under me
Then the rain stole away and took the parts that kept me functioning
My heart will be blacker than your eyes when I’m through with you

And I said, this life ain’t no love song while I marched on blindly

And my knuckles dragged across the walls
And the birds up there mock me and the scenery’s turned wicked
And your name is trapped beneath my tongue

Don't tell him I slept with his girlfriend.

Love his music in general.

I just got this CD from my local Library after hearing this song and one other from Ghosts. Both of these are excellent, if you like this, I'd recommend both of those as well.
I have Ghosts, which came out before this CD. Need to pull it out and give it a listen tonight. But I like this alot as well.

Seems like all folk is enjoying a bit of a resurgence. Quite right too.
Could if be that generic electronic pop music has no legs? Surely not!

An easy 8.
Pretty cool. That's a very insistent drum beat.
Surely it´s an interesting song! I would like to hear more from Radical Face in RP! Thanks Bill!
