Preceded by Deep Purple's cover of Oh Well. Brilliant!
Followed by the Black Keys It Ain'tOver, because he reads the comments. Double brilliant!

I was introduced to Fleetwood Mac by a fellow who took me away to Asia for a year and experienced all it had to offer, back before cell phones. We disappeared into that life and this music was perfect for it.

You don't have to look. Look away! Look away!
Why do we have to look at a picture of Stevie nicks and the worst incarnation of fleetwood mac when peter green is playing?

Mick always knows what is best. Any other drummer would have just used the standard kit throughout, but Mick swaps between that and bongos(?) making the rhythm in this song really special.

Bill doesn't "post" the pictures, he just links to Wikipedia. So, other than band name, there's no correlation between what's playing on RP and what's displayed by Wikipedia.
I'd really like it if Bill could post a picture that reflects the Mac as what they were, not what they became without Peter, Danny and Jeremy.

This is really cool!

This album is awesome! My only objection is the picture including Buckingham & Nicks, which is somewhat misleading. They were no part of that album or era of FM. Otherwise - thank you RP for this amazing music.

Edit: I was and still am aware of the slight chronological discrepancy in my comment... It was kind of my point that it was probably the other way round.

Indeed, it's young Danny Kirwan, very possibly one of the most underrated guitar players that ever was. RIP, Danny. frecko wrote:
Danny Kirwan!
A very tight and badly overlooked record. You can hear the roots of all their later music.
Cool!
Danny Kirwan!
Excellent album.
This superb collection foreshadowed all that was to come. A must-have!
How about something from the Bare Trees Album. A very underrated album!!

Danny Kirwan; easily one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. There was a pretty good reason the Green God invited him to play in Fleetwood Mac. Not often I give a 10 but this is indeed Godlike. Thank you Bill.
Needs more bongo!
Great song and not even the best song from this terrific album.

This is from when Fleetwood Mac was worth listening to.
Some really nice guitar work in there!

Just pulled my vinyl. Looking pretty mint. Gonna have to give a spin for the first time in a gazillion years.
This is the album that switched me on to FM in 1970 - I still have the original vinyl, but (like me) it's seen better days.
Can't help wondering what the diehard blues PG / FM followers who cried 'sellout' at TPO would have said had they been able to foresee the Buckingham-Nicks years!

Thanks for the link. I always knew 1969 was a good one. Woodstock, Isle of Wight, debut albums by Neil Young, The Stooges, Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Humble Pie...etc. This list reinforces that and more! Very special year indeed. (I was 12 and the world was just opening up to me...)

Another WOW! Where do you dig this up??
Could easily have been released last week and still seem modern.

Soul Sacrifice? No? Michael Carabello and Michael Shrieve? That's what I hear.
Nice one
This is my FAVORITE Fleetwood Mac Album. Shake your rattle snake!
Love this stuff; I notice how Cream-y it all sounds. And the rhythm thing: very Latinesque; really brimming with The Vibe of The Times!
Danny Kirwan did a solo album with some amazing songs - some of it is on youtube. tragic figure
Absolutely the best incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, bar none.
that´s a great song, howcome this poor rating ?
Ten Years Fleetwood After Mac. Good stuff!

I had to knock it down to a 6 because of the album art. All the shrooms from the '60s couldn't help it.
