Like a harbour sings to the concrete
Like the highway rolls in your childhood dream.
I'm a wild abandoned ray of heat
And I'm coming for you like a stampede.

I'm coming for you like a driving rain,
I'm coming for you like a storm unchained,
I'm coming for you like a third refrain.

In a heavy heart there's a sea of light,
Secret until dead of night.
Where the deeper meanings dare to fight
And I'm coming for you like a voice inside.

I'm coming for you like a final round,
I'm coming for you like a tempted hound,
I'm coming for you like fury and sound.

I'm coming for you like the world's on fire,
I'm coming for you like a gospel choir,
I'm coming for you and I will not tire.

Like a wizards peril far from home,
Like a quivered arrow all alone,
I'm a new born and I'm growing old
And I'm coming for you with a heart of gold.

I'm coming for you like a driving rain,
I'm coming for you like a storm unchained,
I'm coming for you like a final round,
I'm coming for you like a tempted hound,
I'm coming for you like the world's on fire,
I'm coming for you like a gossip gospel choir,
I'm coming for you.

The voice and words of God to the despairing soul.
I'm coming for you like a third refrain.

Three refrains in this song. She let us know in the first one.

Rose Cousins (any of her stuff!!!) and that's just the tip of what goes on here on this coast. I love love love RP and will be sending cash in another month or so...thank you ...Thank -you!!!!!!!!

I'm constantly surprised by how much good music I've never heard before comes out of Canada.
if I weren't married I'd be coming for her via these lyrics. One of the kindest woman I've met. I'm not in her food chain and she brings me starbucks every Monday.

I like this more and more. It's a simple tune but the lyrics are fabulous! And hilarious. John Prine could have written this. And that's a compliment. Gotta learn this one. Thanks RP!

You've obviously never experienced the energy, enthusiasm, and power of a gospel choir.

WRONG. First listen = 8 rating.
Love this song!  Obsession realized!
Released 1999, didn’t realize this song was that old. Never heard it before I found RP. Bill, any thoughts on getting some Kovacs music? Noir with a pinch of James Bond, especially My Love.

Reminds me of something... maybe Aimee Man?  I particularly like when the horns come in.

At some parts it reminds me of Eliza Gylkison (Sp?)

Cheers.

Can't say I've ever heard Amelia Curran, but this really turned my head. It should be obvious that music speaks to us on a very individual basis, without launching into a thesis, I'll just say that the vibe I get from the RP folks is one of respect, and though I don't want to put words in their mouths I think they put out a range of music for us so that a community is formed. So let's just enjoy it the way we can, and as my 92-yr old momma would say: if you can't say something nice...  As I heard one time at work: "Keep the junk out of the funk!" Life without RP would be a little boring.

So nice to hear our local talent here on RP  {#Bounce}

Sorry I haven't heard your album yet.  When is the release date?  What's that?  You haven't recorded an album?  Kinda what I thought.
It's "ok"...I just keep thinking of the 10 other artists in this vein that are MUCH better.
"Could do better"
That was the bane of my report cards (not Borderlands) at high school too.

There are so many reasons I hate this song... the fact that the artist is a newfoundlander is not really one of them. It's just a terrible, repetitive song. Period.  And I grew up in the maritimes, so cut me some slack...

I grew up in St. John's, newfoundland around the same time Curran did, and I have good friends who are good friends with her. I've been feeling uncharacteristically homesick lately, and this ain't helping :) Love it all the same though.

Don't know much about this one but it makes me stop and turn her up. This song touches my heart.

More investigation needed,followed no doubt by more expense! Thanks Bill...{#Tongue-out}

Kind of Ray LaMontagne crossed with Tracy Chapman feel. Can't be a bad thing.

Cheers SECA_Alan! You've got a way with words  : )

Canada is broken up into Provinces.  Allot like the States in the USA, but you can fit 10 states into one province.   Canada also has two official languages, English and French.  Most of Canada speaks English, but one of the Provinces called Quebec, specks French.  Quebec is also one of the biggest Provinces, with one of the greatest population.   For that reason, and the reason most of us love our multi culture country ways, make up what Canada is.  In fact it's Amelia's East Coast culture of living in the Province of Newfoundland that influences her music that some of us here so love.

I hope this helps.

Why would a Canadian songwriter be nominated for "English Songwriter of The Year"?  That's just crazy!

Within the first chord I knew this song was going to be good, and I was reaching to crank the volume.
I love this song but it's not avail in iTunes, is that a Canadian distributor's conflict?  Is this album self-released?
