Who knows how long I've loved you?
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime?
If you want me to I will

For if I ever saw you
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same

Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me
Oh, you know I will
I will

Mm

Another great Silly Love Song by Sir Paul.

Besides As by Stevie Wonder.  And Darling Be Home Soon, the Lovin Spoonful.  And a bunch of others.  But this one is very sweet and tuneful and damn near perfect fer sure.
cant go wrong with the beatles...or the stones.  KABC launched in '69 with Brother John playing only beatles & stones for (something like) months (it seemed)   we listened to it constantly at ucsd (when not listening to the intra-campus pirate station broadcast through the 110V power system—before the FCC shut us down)
Best love song ever.
One sweet song.
Some of the comments regarding the bass track, on the right side, made me curious so I listened to the song a few more times and did some research.  Not only can Paul play a mean bass guitar, he can sing it well too.  I've been a Beatles fans for so long and I keep learning more!

From: https://www.beatlesbible.com/songs/i-will/

"Take 65 of I will was the best version, and the next day McCartney overdubbed on this backing vocals, bass and another acoustic guitar track.  He also sang the bass part
I can never figure out (for myself) which one of The Beatles songs I like best -because the styles can be quite different in their songs- but this one is definitely top5 material, maybe even top3.

The sung baseline tops it of. Fantastic!
Has a stylistic and tuneful similarity to McCartney's early solo hit, 'Another Day'.  But 'I Will' is a smoother, sweeter melody.
One of the all time greats. Simple but beautiful.

One thing about this song that isn't mentioned often - it is one of the great song titles of all time. Simple but lovely.
Sounds like it would have fit perfectly on "McCartney", his first solo record.  "Every Night" is very similar to this song.

The White Album is not their best record, but this is a fabulous song.

One of my favorites of the Beatle love songs. {#Good-vibes}

An trumpet interpretation of this simple song won me the gold at the local solo and ensemble competition back in 1971, thoroughly pissing off those who had labored on much more technically difficult pieces. Moral: Don't go up against the Beatles, son - yer bound to loose.

Yes, I used to sing this to my son for the first few years of his life; he still likes to hear me play it for him once in a while.  It's a beautiful song, really.
>Yes!!
Love the vocal double-tracking. The unison makes the brief harmony that much more effective.
I really love these old Beatles songs. Takes me back to simplier times.

Blackbird is of course great too, but for me this one is just as good!

WTF?! Is that bass (right speaker) sung or a jug? It sounds sung. In all my years listening to this album, I'd always thought it was Paul playing some incredi-bass. Wow.

This is off of the remastered CD. When I got this CD there are things on there that I have never heard before, I mean in regards to clarity. I purchased all of the new remastered CD's from Help to Abbey Road and in my opinion the White Album sounds the most reveling.

Simply an amazing album!

Apres-Beatles, yes.  But not while he still had John and George as counterweights.

I had a mariachi trio perform this beautiful little ditty cliffside in Mexico for 60 of my closest friends & family, as my wife & I got married a few years ago.  Fond memories.{#Kiss}

It's Paul singing some incredi-bass. Wow indeed.

  On their wedding day, my sister's husband sang this to her acapella, with his 4 sisters (all uber-fantastic singers) singing harmony in the background.  It was really cool, especially since Mo and Paul were married when they were REALLY REALLY OLD ! (okay, so 45 and 52 isn't all that old, sheesh!)   Of course, Paulie has a great voice too.  Everyone was bawling.  Of course.  Perfect. *sigh* {#Kiss}

Damn, the White Album is great! By 1968 it was clear that John wrote the cool, dark songs and Paul wrote the light, uplifting (some would say sappy) songs but they still had enough influence on each other that the final product was always excellent. This song is a perfect example. Yes, I know, John wrote ballads too (Julia) and Paul wrote some rockers (Helter Skelter) but in general it was the other way around.

how sweet {#Hug}
Still one of my favorites...
Hearing it again - for forty years now - it really would have fit well on Rubber Soul. or Revolver.
Comfy, acoustic, close-mic McCartney; reminds me of Here, There, Everywhere.

My favorite Beatles album.
Agreed!

Funny. It was actually a very individualistic effort, oftentimes with a Beatle recording alone. Remember that Yoko was on the scene, and things weren't what they were cracked up to be at Apple Corps. (But George never would have met Olivia otherwise, so some good came from it.)

And, oh....and the battle over whether or not include Revolution #9 (much to the chagrin of George, who was always crowded out).

I Will love this song forever.  I really Will.
This one is not the same without Julia following it..............I just noticed it says 1963 beside the White LP...that can't be true...I thought it was released about 1968

Yes indeed they did. Sweet Beatle ballad
lovely ballad. I remember watching friends celebrate their "first dance" at their wedding to this tune way back when...

So this is the original killer guitar riff from "My Best Friend's Girlfriend." I guess the biggest curse that the Beatles left on music is that every artist thereafter has had no choice but to copy them in some form or another :p
This is a really cool song. I never realized its title though. I wonder if Radiohead had this song in mind when they wrote their \"I will\"?

Beautiful tune.
