I took my baby to see a show.
She was telling me she didn't want to go.
I said, "Come on girl, what's the matter with you?"
But I could tell by the smell that she'd had a few.
I said hold on girl don't get too tight,
You started early and we've got all night.
You've got to take it easy, take it slow.
We don't want the whole world to know
About the shape you're in.
Well, my little girl really loves that wine.
Wine will do it to her most everytime.
If it's red or it's white or it's in between,
She can drink more wine than I've ever seen.
I said hold on girl don't get too tight,
You started early and we've got all night.
You've got to take it easy, take it slow.
We don't want the whole world to know
About the shape you're in.
Now I'm not trying to get heavy with you.
I'll mind my own business if you want me to.
But I love you girl, I don't love no one else.
I'm just telling you baby 'cause I've been there myself.
I said hold on girl don't get too tight,
You started early and we've got all night.
You've got to take it easy, take it slow.
We don't want the whole world to know
About the shape you're in.

Good tune! Great guitar player! ...too bad, he turned into an A-hole in old age!

So anyone that holds opinions and views that differ from your own is an A-hole? I think we all know who the A-hole is here.
OK, Slowhand is Slowhand, but he surrounds himself with so good musicians.

Eric Clapton is a racist, xenophobic, antivaxxer piece of shit.

"Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands… So where are you? Well wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country … I don’t want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white "- Eric Clapton, 1976

So, are you the official person who determines that musicians are over rated or not?
The President of the "Determination of Over Rated Musicians Club?"

I suspect it is their opinion. Why so angry?

I'm thinking the opposite, pretty good musician but just an okay song. No accounting for taste, huh?

This is such a tired trope.  I can only assume that you never saw the man play and feel that iconoclasm makes you seem cool.
wow, i recognized this in one bar, but it's easily been 30+ years since i heard it.

This is like a song written by Willie Dixon and remade by Eric Clapton, but I guess it's written by Clapton.  Nice.
OK, it's a cool, fun track. To me, it's a 7.  But it's not the Clapton of roaring blues rock we came to know and adore.  Here, he seems to be just playing around.
Seamless fit/flow from Tom Petty's "Saving Grace"... Thank you very much RP, love riding the sonic wave that you provide!
Crazy! I think this is the first time I have heard this. How did I miss this album in the day?

How come a track can hit the spot so effectively? Is this a Ry Cooder track?

So many questions. . .

Anyway. . . it's a 9 right out of the box. Marvellous stuff.
A great album with some amazing guitar on it-Albert Lee, Ry Cooder and EC. What's not to love?
