What have I done

You are my everything
My head, my heart, my mind, my wing
I could give all again
I'm never short of anything with you

The jokes, the laugh, the teardrops too
The games, the fun, the travels too
Yes I'll go through it all with you*
All good things now come from you

I hope you feel the way I do
I hope you give yourself up too
I'm damned to feel the way I do
What have I done to fall so hard
For you

I give my everything
My head, my heart, my mind, my wing
The past the present tomorrow too
I'll spend my final day with you

I hope you feel the way I do
I hope you give yourself up too
I'm damned to feel the way I do
What have I done to fall so hard
For you

I hope you feel the way I do
I hope you give yourself up too
I'm damned to feel the way I do
What have I done to fall so hard
For you

You clearly don't feel the way I do

Oddly enough after 11 years I've come to appreciate this song, and the live version is even better.
I think I would just love to watch her sing. . . .

These comments are odd. It's a very slight song.

The live version pops up here sometimes... The cowbell echo is magical on that one - but both excellent   Well, for me, anyway...
What a groovy bassline!

On_The_Beach...you're pretty spot on. I hear the same thing now. Do very much like this and that. Anna can't really do wrong...even when she's sounding a bit like Roxy Music. Love it.

Beautiful lyrics...but they do not match the dark music, which leads me to believe something is not going to go well with this relationship. Still a 7.

"I'm damned to feel the way I do"  -When she sings this line, the mysterious contrast between devotional lyrics and melancholy music is clearly resolved for me. She knows that this kind of "love" cannot survive for very long; it is like a lovely castle in the distance that turns out to be a ruin when one comes closer. Romantic love is like a great movie, projected onto the blank screen of all that two people do NOT know about one another.
Unlike Ms. Ternheim, I choose to believe that kindness can allow two people to forgive one another and themselves each disappointment as it arises; and that true intimacy can be the final and greatest possible outcome.* (I believe that such kindness is an expression of self-love, and is the work of a lifetime).
Anna knows she is in the grip of a compelling fantasy; but the only outcome she believes possible is painful, perhaps even devastating failure.

So nice of Anna to write this and sing it to me. I really think she's sweet.
Lykke Li?
Dido-esque. Nice.
6 > 7.  Liking this more every time I hear it.
Super!
The album cover art reminds me of Aimee Mann's Lost in Space.
This song has been played too often for too long.  Time for it to go away.

Love is the Drug is exactly what came to mind for the first couple of bars..
Love the melody, instruments, composition, but the vocals, no. This is just the wrong voice with this music. A 6, and that's generous.
Back to Back songs with borrowed drum tracks - this immediatley reminiscent of love is the drug & the stones we love you reminiscent of tomorrow never knows

Now the differences.  Aimee Mann's also uses the color GREEN.  In Anna's album art the black wiry structures are television antennas, while Aimee's are electric line towers.  Anna's has a photo of herself holding hands with what appears to be A MONKEY WEARING PEOPLE CLOTHES.  There is NO MONKEY in Aimee's album cover.

That was more fun than I expected!

There is a monkey on Aimee's cover, but he's wearing salamander clothes, and he's hiding behind the credenza, so you can't really see him very well.

That's so cool !

She does have peculiar pronunciation and phrasing, but I think it's not so much an affectation as it is because English is not her native language.  Just a speculation; some of the Scandinavian RP members would likely know more about it.
Quite a good song in any case.

I believe the reference was to Aimee's album cover, which, except for a dark blue starry sky, has no comparison, either.

Anna is threading on new ground here. The new album features more emphasis on her backing band, the backup singers and rousing percussion is prevalent in most of the songs. It may take a few spins to get used to, but once you get it you want to put on the Dr Martens and stomp along with it. ;)

No, I have no idea what the monkey is all about...
